The bipartisan immigration bill that passed the Senate during Obama's term was not HIS - it was bipartisan. And, it was comprehensive. He urged the bipartisan process. And, he was willing to sign what the bipartisan committee came up with.

Trump has NO comprehesive immigration plan and he is ABSOLUTELY and TOTALLY partisan in his use of this problem.

Just recently we watched as Trump once again rallyed his campaign stops with hatred toward Hispanics and promises to round up a MILLION from our population and deprort them. One or two days later he said he didn't mean it!!

What we get from this is just more proof that Trump can't even hold a line on any part of an actual immigration policy.

    And, bipartisanship??? LOL!

Not all of those who seek entry in the US are refugees. Just because you are poor doesn’t mean you have the right to enter. Legitimate refugees/asylum seekers are generally the targets of political persecution or discrimination, or even targets of major criminal gangs in case when local law enforcement is so corrupted that one can not reasonably expect to be protected. In both American continents I can see only 2 countries that produce legitimate refugees - Cuba and Venezuela.

I don’t think there are that many people in the US who are against legitimate refugees and asylum seekers.
If you are talking about legitimate asylum seekers that this is a boring thread. But I think you are trying to pass off illegal aliens as refugees, even though those people come for economic reasons and are not really endangered in reality.

Are you serious? You're mixing two completely different posts about two completely different subjects. Refugees are not illegals.

    Pay attention!

I'm afraid there are. I'll name you one: Trump. And most of his supporters.

Legitimate refugees have no choice but to become illegal aliens when this administration fails to process them at the border. Some are caught and become Asylum seekers. Then they spend years here waiting to be processed. Trump illegally (and inhumanely) is now sending some of them to Mexico. Some of them are being chased by gangs and drug lords so they must escape back to the U.S. as illegals.

This is a complex problem. And Trump keeps making it worse.

They don't need one... this is not their policy. Their policy is no illegal crossing.

That’s not true. Absolute majority of legitimate asylum seekers and refugees do wait because they want to enter legally. Also, if you are being pursued by criminal gangs you might hurt your cause because if you enter illegally you won’t be receiving protections of the US government.

My first relatives who moved to the US in the 70s waited 6 months. That’s a fact from my own family.

It's not working though, is it? There are still illegal crossings. So in conclusion: Democratic strategy is not clear. Republican strategy is non-existent. Is that like "pretend they don't exist"?

I'll take not clear. At least it can be clarified.

America voted on a wall, Democrats are blocking the wall... the electorate has spoken and this illegal crossing issue is going to get Donal Trump elected for another four years.

The problem is the 95% economic migrants coming across the border pretending to be asylum seekers

    Legitimate is subjective.

What level of persecution warrants assylum? Somewhere between 'My govt won't give me free housing and food' and 'My govt wants to roast me on a spit for not worshipping it' are both legitimate claims and illigitimate claims.

Part of the metric should be 'how many more people can we support?' Which IMO isn't very many while so many people here already are homeless.

This does not prove that Trump has anything against legitimate refugees, nor does this prove his supporters are against refugees.
Trump doesn’t even mention refugees in the tweets you quoted.
I guess my initial opinion was right - you are trying to pass illegal aliens for legitimate refugees, when in reality those are different things.

They didn't vote on a wall. They voted against a wall in 2018.

I don't know if the electorate is going to get Trump elected another four years or not. For starters, he would need to find a way to stay out of jail for all that time. And that's going to be his biggest challenge, given that he's an obsessive criminal who can't help himself.

Don't let yourselves be brainwashed by this thread. They care about votes, not people. Most of these democrats wouldn't even give one of their mickey D's french fries to a starving illegal

Sure... shutting down a refugee application program that was working doesn't prove he has anything against legitimate refugees. Just like "there's ample evidence..." doesn't prove, in your mind, that he committed a crime.

There is no way to get through religious cult mentality... So why try?

Thank you. There are still some out there that have not yet developed a full Trump cult mental state. I've decided to focus my time and efforts on them.

Just you and your close friends huh? Liberals scream, cry and speak in tongues and call people intelligent enough to vote for Trump a cult? I understand though, the left devotes so much time and effort in manufacturing sins to be denounced and then find out the only ones who will believe them are other leftists. Has to be terribly frustrating.

"Working"??? The system is overwhelmed. They come across the border and get caught and claim refugee status and a court date is set and they do not return or they come across the border and do not get caught and are never seen. Children are caught with the make believe parents and they go back across the border and return with a new set of make believe parents. Maybe you call that "working" in your world, but not in mine.
