They probably would have had it decades ago if they could just stop sending rockets at Israeli cities for a while.

Palestinians haven't been interested in peace in .... forever. If they did, they wouldn't lob rockets into the suburbs nearly every time they sit down for any "peace" talks. And besides, electing a terrorist organization to lead you, who's sole purpose is Israel's destruction, doesn't put much credence into their values, if they ever had any. Animals just be animals, because they act like animals.

If Israel put their guns down tomorrow, there would be no more Jews the next day. If the Palestinians put down their arms, there would be peace. This phrase comes from the fact that Israel could completely obliterate every Palestinian whenever they chose to, yet they never have. If all Israel cares about is killing Palestinians, which is the common anti semitic myth, its just bizarre and illogical why they haven't after all these years.

That’s fine, self determination and all. Perhaps, in another 70 years Palestinians will finally get an offer they’ll deem acceptable. Or, perhaps, not.

    70 years? Who knows?

    In any event...

...In the lifetimes of anybody currently posting here (at PF)...

...Palestine will NEVER get an autonomous state (on the West Bank or Gaza, Etc.)...

    Period.:salute:

Great, let's toss you into the Gaza strip and see how far your self-determination gets you.

No, they won't. Nor have they done anything to deserve it.

Been there, done that. It's a great swath of land with much potential.

Israel has been attacking Palestine for decades now. It's actually at war with Gaza and is ruling West Bank under Israeli military law.

Would YOUR state buy that for $50B?

Or, would you stand for at least some of the things our founders saw as absolutes?

No "swath of land" is "great" when you are surrounded by those making war on you - for 2 decades now.

And, let's remember that this war on Gaza started because Israel thought those in Gaza voted wrong in a free and open election.

Israel builds walls to capture more of West Bank. So, what wall are you talking about? The 1969 border wall? Or one of the other many, many walls they've built AND have plans to build in order to enrich Israel by stealing from Palestine?

There isn't any occupation, there really aren't even any Palestinians, it's a made up term. They don't want peace, they just want there not to be an Israel. Jew-hate is inherent to Islam.

?? Please. Palestine is recognized by the UN as an observer state. And, Israel was NEVER given rightful ownership of the West Bank.

What you call the people who live there is TOTALLY irrelevant

First of all, people can call themseles what they want to call themselves.

Second of all, what a people is called does not affect the borders of countries - nor does it confer the right to ethnic cleansing by the neighbors.

I was talking about Trump's wall on the southern border. Israel can build their own wall :)

It was written by the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Mohammad Shtayyeh in response to Kushner's attempt at bribery.

You can probably find it somewhere else based on the names of Kushner, the PM and the $50B.

Screw the UN, that joke of an organization has had Libya and Iran on their human rights commission.

They have a several thousand year history there, there weren't even many people there in 1948. They are the only free spot in the Middle East, Arabs living there have it better than any Muslim country.

Ethic cleansing is what Muslims do to 'infidels' living in their countries.

They have been waging continuous war on Gaza for 20 years.

You can start with the FACT that a blockade IS an act of war.

From there, one can move to the denial of rights of its coastal fishing, it's fossil fuel rights, it's rights of export and transportation, it's collection of taxes that rightfully belongs to Gaza, it's refusal to let people leave - even for such activities as kids going to universities where they have been accepted.

Israel has taken direct action to prevent political unification with West Bank under the Abbas plan, which required Gazan leadership to declare a restriction to peaceful means and to an end where Israel and Palestine are neighbors in peace - both of which were agreed by Gazan leadership back as far as the Clinton administration.

Israel has worked to destroy the Palestinian economy as pointed out by the statement linked in the OP. In Gaza, that means they Gaza can not even esport goods - when their major economy has been the export of agricultural products.

That Israel hasn't gone farther than that level of war is immiterial. The point is that they ARE at continuous war with Gaza with NO willingness to negotiate terms.

Expecting Palestine to be a model of pacifist democracy is just plain ridiculous when they are ruled by Israeli military law and are undergoing Israeli humanitaria crime of ethnic cleansing in West Bank and when Israel is continuing to wage war on Gaza with no willingness to even TALK about it.

STILL, Abbas was able to form a government inclusive of Gaza where Gazan leadership were promised NO seats, where Gazan leadership had to sign that nationhood would be pursued by peaceful means only and that the final objective is a two state solution where they will live beside Israel in peace.

Also, I would point out that the IDF sees Abbas as their key partner in preventin violence - to the point where the IDF has supported Abbas having the arms to carry that out in areas not directly under Israeli military or mercenary control.

That was an amazing advance. It would have meant that the Abbas government would be in control of Gaza borders, where the limited goods crossings today pay dollars to Hamas - making Hamas have the means for maintaining the goodwill of the people through Hamas civil operations.

Netanyahu killed that, as you probably know.

    Why?

Are you actually trying to form a justification for the universally recognized crime of ethnic cleansing???

Kushner will never bring peace between these too, his bias is obvious, so why would Palestine ever trust him
