Democrats and their illegal open border, sanctuary city laws are the ones ruining CA, not Republicans. You should be mad at your own party.

Lead the charge to secede if you hate America so much. Or move down to Mexico. Good luck.

Democrats aren’t open orders. Sanctuary cities/state laws are not illegal.

Yes they are. They need the votes and openly support illegals and block ICE from doing their job.

Californians don't hate America. We hate Republican Americans like the mayor of a town in Alabama who wishes gays could be executed. We hate the ignorance that motivates Republicans. So long as Republicans have no power whatsoever, like here in California, I pay them little attention.

Democrats are ruining CA and yet you blame Republicans. I think your hatred is misguided and misplaced on this one.

    Democrats are ruining Oregon too.

I take it you live in California so your opinion about its ruin is accurate? Thing is, most of my family live there (brother in Oregon) and it would seem they love it.

you better take a look at those grocery store shelves, here in ny very few items from cali...

exactly what ports are 'owned' by cali? and where do you think those ships need to sail through? that's right usa waters, the state waters are less than a few miles from shore, then usa (federal waters), we'll just tariff the heck outta everything cali tries to send out to sea & cross land borders... we'll charge $10 a pint of water flowing into cali from our side, cut down all powerlines at the borders to remove cali from our grid... call in all markers and force you to payoff all your debt (which is substantially more than your 'so-called' economic revenue)...

    They are not.

Illegals can’t vote. And they can’t block federal agents from enforcing federal laws.

    Of course they are.

    :roflol:

Illegals vote all the time. Democrats make sure they can vote.

Also been running a budget surplus since 2014

In regards to healthcare, the purpose of a mandate is to offset the loses a company experiences when they are denied the ability to reject customers or charge them higher premiums based on their preexisting conditions. When such protections for preexisting conditions are applied, companies experience revenue loses, and on top of this, it encourages many people to abuse the system. When people know that companies can't deny them, what they'll often do is go without health insurance until they run into a health issue, and since preexisting conditions are protected, the insurance companies cannot deny them or charge them more based on their preexisting conditions.

In regards to the conditions of non-citizens in the state of California, all the law means is some people who are non-citizens can purchase coverage from insurance companies. Insurance companies don't have a problem with this, because companies see them as a source of revenue. Generally speaking when we're talking about migrant workers, we are talking about people who are young and able bodied, having more people like this pay into the system is usually a bigger source of revenue than an expense. You have to understand how insurance coverage works, it is collective payment, everyone has to pay into the system in order to receive its benefits. The ones who take more from the system than they put in are usually the elderly, while the ones who put more into the system than they take out are usually the young and able bodied. Citizen status doesn't change this fact

I don't live there. Spent a lot of time there though, especially back in the 70's - 90's when it wasn't such a dump and a neglected homeless state. Before they handed out free drug needles and built tent cities.

UPDATE: San Diego taxing citizens over 11 million to pay for a new tent city.

The lawmakers are just plain stupid in CA.

Interesting, I grew up in San Diego and now live in Louisville,Ky. Here we have tons of homeless and tent cities as well as beggars and needle exchange...I think that is pretty much everywhere in our country if you live in a city.

How funny watching you calling people ignorant then showing a selfie flipping off a star, saying how bright you are because 18 year old college kids agree with you, then literally spewing hate towards republican fifteen times in this thread alone and saying you pay little attention to Republicans. Dude you're off your rocker, you're obsessing over republicans and my advice is pay attention to your state and start preaching change. You live in a lefty utopia and you are literally allowing your state to become a nasty homeless cesspool and it's certainly not the bad republicans fault you lefties are in full control. Your coastline is beautiful but your state's big cities are becoming dumps, save them while you can.

California is so awesome, yet without illegal immigration, their population would be in decline.

    Its THAT awesome.

I believe Illinois and New York are in the same boat, or close it.

Or maybe you just exaggerated the issue because just a quick information search seems to prove you incorrect. Funny how it's Democrats begging for a tent city....

    Hmmmm, how bizarre. ;)

Problem with all of those places you list, you need an off-road vehicle to get to any of them and a big bucket of hand sanitizer when you leave.

Finally we focus on the thread not the state per se. Clearly the nation is going to provide health care for all but that doesn't mean we won't pay a percentage of cost either up front or through taxes. Obamacare was readily welcomed/ instituted in California. We are not allowing Trump/ Republicans to screw things up for us in their usual hysteric dumb foolery.

I think the OP cited an article by a pro-Trump Republican describing California. Here's one excerpt:

"California residents buy far more Lexuses and Mercedes than people buy in any other state; 16 percent of all in-state car sales are luxury brands. The reigning ideology of aristocratic wealth, however, is neither conservatism nor blue-stocking Republicanism, but a strange blend of capitalism and socialism."

With all the wealth there is a commitment to care for the less affluent. The concept of socialistic well-being for all citizens infuriates Republicans

You can in no way support that claim.
And this is an intentional falsehood.

San Francisco just became the first city in America to ban e-cigarettes... luckily it's still totally fine to take a **** in the streets there.
