MSM ignores google censorship

Obviously who was surprised,

Do you think it'll get worse?

Do you believe the 1st amendment is only for people that have your viewpoints?

Are you willing to sell out your children's liberty for what you perceive as temporary safety?

 

Liberal policies and values don’t hold up when examined in an open and honest forum. So silencing the opposition is job #1 for committed leftists.

The MSM refuses to cover a myriad of HUGE stories. This is another example. Google has a near monopoly on searches and is skewing the results to favor the Democratic Party in a huge way and the MSM won't report it.

They also refuse to report with any veracity:

• FOIA results on DOJ/FBI actions in the 2016 Election
• IRS attacks on Conservative Groups during the 2012 Election
• Joe Biden's coercion of the Ukrainian Government to stop an investigation on his son
• Joe Biden and John Kerry's sons getting a multi-million dollar deal from China's Government Bank
• ANTIFA's attacks on Free Speech
• College Campus attacks on Free Speech
• How Gun Violence is way down
• #1 Cause of strife in urban areas is Fatherless kids
• Unmasking of hundreds of Americans came from U.N. Ambassador under Obama, Samantha Powers user, and she claimed it wasn't her
• How General Flynn was overseas when they monitored his call with the Russian Ambassador and how it was related to the Obama expulsion of Russians so conveniently timed

Not one of these are "Conspiracy Theories" they all actually happened. Meanwhile, a real conspiracy theory, "Trump Russia Collusion" was covered non-stop. We have stepped into an age of propaganda for the masses that Orwell warned us of, and Leftists gleefully accept the propaganda and spew it back out.

 

Our right leaning friends need to learn what the first amendment actually does, and they need to make up their minds about private businesses doing as they please, or be forced to conform to their viewpoint.

From your own words when you just proved you don't understand the 1st amendment and are now in damage limitation mode as you google platform and publisher to try to pretend you knew what you were talking about all along.

You seem horribly confused. You brought up 1st amendment in your OP. I was letting you know it doesn’t apply here. If you knew what it did you would have known that. Now you do.

 

What does the 1st amendment have to do with this?

 

Break up google and lets see what they report.

 

It is sad that about 45% of Americans oppose Free Speech. But such are our times.

That depends on how many subscribers they lose. If they don't lose enough, it will get worse.

Actually the first amendment only applies to government. It doesn't apply to Facebook or any other part of the private sector.

 

YOU HAVE NO FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT TO USE SOMEONE ELSE'S PROPERTY.

If you honestly think that Google/Facebook/Twitter is censoring anyone you are perfectly able to put it on your own service JUST LIKE THEIRS. Facebook is, (to my admittedly limited knowledge) a WEB PAGE, a very BIG web page and with LOTS of features but in the end it is Mark Zuckerberg's Blog and nothing else.

If the big "platforms" are not presenting a viewpoint you think they should then MAKE YOUR OWN. Maybe you'll get richer than the Koch's and be able to sponsor Ivanka for President in 2028

 

Sadly the First Amendment can not keep up with new technology. Hopefully, new Laws guaranteeing Free Speech will be put in place.

This is why the MSM has lost the trust of the vast majority of Americans and why its ratings are tanking. I'm perfectly cool it hastening its own demise.

 

I am sorry to point out the spelling error, but MSM is a wrong abbreviation for Mainstream Media. The correct abbreviation is EP.

 

It applies to a platform not a publisher you need to get up to speed, I think most people in this thread don't understand the difference and how it affects the 1st amendment.

The crux is do they want to be a platform or a publisher? You cannot be a platform with active censorship of ideas it makes you a publisher which in turns makes you liable for the content on your site.

 

That is not completely true. Google/Facebook/Twitter are acting as a function of a "public place" or a "town square" There have been many court rulings against private entities that have censored speech while they have been acting as a "public place". As long as these entities treat ALL cases of censorship equally, they will likely not have any issue. If they do not treat all equally, they will likely be ruled against based on precedence set.
