Are people still pretending this matters?

If the Trump presidency teaches us anything, it's that decorum has never actually meant anything.

Why don’t you ask Trump that question. He is the one who wanted to photo op.

It matters a lot to both Kim Jong Un, who will forever have the images of at least one US President kissing his butt.

And it matters to Trump, because he got a photo op that he knew that he could sell to his flat earth base, as evidence of his “diplomatic skills”

He knows that the Fox NOise/AM right wing talk radio audience won’t be paying attention to the fact that nothing got accomplished, and
Trump will be on to the next shiny object to put in their sucker’s TV screens for them to clap for.

Nothing illustrates how truly shallow the hard core Trump base really is than its enthustiastic willingness to fall for nothing more than a photo op.

Who cares? We have real problems to deal with. I don't care if Trump meets ****ing Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and literally kisses his butt, if it prevents a future war.

Oh, I don't think Trump is going to succeed. Too many contradictions in his policies. But to criticize him for having these talks is ridiculous.

2 for that.... I actually don't doubt he wants to make long term nicey nice with Kim and his regime of ****. But even if possible, he has ZERO idea how to accomplish it, nor does he have the right people in the right jobs to make it happen.

The Road to Hell is paved with Good Intentions...

He is not “having talks”. He had his picture taken for Fox News and its fawning Trumpster audience.

That’s why he wanted it. That’s all he got.

Giving the Iranians their money back helped seal what had been a very successful negotiation that was celebrated around the world, and honored, until the United States chose to break it.

Many would state the obvious, that we have nothing to show for Trump’s disrespectful and unprofessional vulgarity, other than diminished respect and influence.

A truly historic moment. Now Kim Jong Un has to convince his senior advisors and military that the USA won't try to remove him.
He desperately needs aid. He doesn't want his followers to be exposed in any way to capitalism, not similar to Vietnam. He can't lose the control of being THE supreme leader. He is a god like figure to the people of NK who have been indoctrinated for so long.
Once he (they) are assured, they may dismantle one or more Nuke facilities.
I don't see us pulling any troops out any time soon and he probably will keep his conventional army pointed at South Korea.
We won't be signing off on the end of war without total denuclearization.
NSM will say no progress was made. Liberals and socialists will soon have another talking point.

Somebody has to meet with Pelosi. Her own party is even starting to turn against her. Could it be she has no agenda, no objectives (except to oppose Trump) and no outcomes. It is true wanted those images of all those Democrat leaders raising their hands to give free heath care to all the illegals over the uninsured American citizens we already have in the country. Like Trump said " He doesn't expect to get anything accomplished as long as Pelosi and Schumer are running the Democrat party.

We did like the images of each candidate pledging to decriminalize illegal entry into our country. I think Ari Fletcher said it best " Why do we have custom officials at our airports?". Hell let everybody in.

LOL... Are you by any chance referring to Ari Fleischer??

You DO realize that it's a GOOD idea for people coming into the USA from countries that do NOT directly abut the USA to go through customs??

That's about a stupid par for the course from a Bush Jr. appointee... If you didn't even give us a name there, I would have gone with Trump or Bush appointee....

That Ari. It was a tongue in cheek moment for him.

One of the few things that I don't outright condemn on Trump's part. Let's see how this plays out. I do however think that Trump has left himself vulnerable and desperately needing an agreement before the general elections. If he signs something before the election this will play very well for him. If N Korea tests a nuclear device before the election, this will play very poorly for him. And he has put himself in that position. Either way, I think it was unwise of him to give NK that power. He might end up overpaying dramatically to get an agreement. But let's see....

I think its a brilliant gesture.

Trump is saying he trusts Kim enough to enter North Korea, and that he's still open to talks.

Kim is saying he is willing to talk.

It was only February when the met in Vietnam, and Kim took an armored train to get there over security concerns.

Looks like they are past that now.

Even now that Obama is out of office-he still has his stooges engaging with Iran.

Fundamentalist theocracies had an ally in Obama and they know it still.

Agreed and Trump has said he wants a quality deal, not just the first thing he can get.

If this dance takes a few years, so be it.

If it had been Obama meeting with little Kim, the media would be fawning.

    I agree

I don't expect North Korea to denuclearize, but I think the fact that we are negotiating with them is a good thing.. and who knows, maybe some day they actually will agree to denuclearize.

I specifically remember Sean Hannity freaking out because Obama said he was open to speaking with North Korean leaders. The point is there are journalists, and then there are partisan hacks. Some people are only capable of judging a political situation based on what party is in charge at the time. There were also Democrats who criticized Reagan for meeting with Soviet Leaders. Every issue has its own partisan hacks

Seems like this should be a pretty big deal. I imagine the liberals in the news media are wondering how they can spin this to make Trump look bad.

I posted that ABC clip above...you can see they know this is huge but are quick to remind the viewer that North Korea still has nukes.

North and south Korea are still technically at war-a US POTUS going there are meeting with the head of North Korea is huge.

I remember when Trump tweeted out that he would be at the DMZ and suggested that Lil Kim could meet him there.

I thought it was a long shot-but here we are.

You are wonderful. I use your posts as an example of just how twisted leftie logic really can be.
President Trump is the FIRST US president in history to talk with the leader of NKorea and we have malcontents complaining about that act.
Good grief man/woman/alphabet what are you thinking?
