Never heard of Lil Nas X (where the hell do they get these names from?) until I learnt presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg congratulated him for coming out of the closet.
If this clip is any indication I aint all that impressed with his music.

You do seem rather fussy about your music

 

I’m beyond fussy. When it comes to music I’m a pretentious snob and proud of it.
My only excuse is I wasn’t exposed to anything but classical music until about 10 years old. I studied the pipe organ for 11 years which gave a thoroughly judgmental foundation to my snobbery too. The list of music types I can’t stand is a long one but hey, I once hated country and western but will now wallow in Dolly Parton,Linda Rhondstat & Emmy Lou Harris’s ‘Trio’ CD’s like any redkneck. Still cant’ see the point of Punk Rock which to my ears was a good joke at once that shouldn’t have been repeated.Rap bores me to tears even if I find some of the words brilliant and Dixieland Jazz makes me want to puke. On the other side though there’s a whole bunch of classical music that to my ears in vacuous, candy coated populist crap.

 

My condolences, although I agree about punk rock and rap. I still hate most country, especially that twangy crap. Got to love Johnny Cash, though. His music should never be grouped in the same genre.

 

Not a big fan of Johnny Cash but this concert is something else. The mood of this even makes me forget his nasal twang.

 

Not many of you will enjoy being dragged back to the middle ages but for the few who can cope - - - Sadly the MP3 (?) compression used on Youtube drowns nearly all the upper treble and strangles micro dynamic contrasts.

 

Now for something seriously nuts. And what the hell is this guy wearing?

 

Terrifying, brilliant & unique. Usually I tune out from Rap within seconds but this had me by the balls instantly.
Not sure though what effect it’s going to have on the young.

 

Here’s a strange fusion that somehow works.
