This is just 1 article. There has been a trend of other moms getting their kids kicked out of school because they were living in sin. The schools were private and have told some of these moms to stop dating all these men and moving in men when they aren't married. It's against the schools Christian ways. These kids were getting scholarships. How do you feel about this?

Why did they accepted her children in the first place? Even though it's a private school, she may have a case for a lawsuit since there are other single moms exist within that school.

They counseled her every semester for years. I take it that they weren't going to let a family benefit from their program after she kept on.

    Do you think it's unwarranted?

She doesn't want her children being taught by people like that anyway. Good riddance, I say.

guess some Christians believe in punishing children for the sins of their parents

like google, if it's a private school, they can do that though, they can choose who to allow and not allow if they do not meet their moral standards

It's bad for the kids. But parents need to wake up and be a good parent.

They knew the rules before they enrolled their kids. Now it's the rules only apply to everyone else - not me.

Since it is a Private School, it does not matter if we agree with the policy or not. Who ever is in charge of running the school gets to run that school their way. It sounds stupid but once again I do not have to like it. My guess would be there are other issues that the school would rather not get into but what ever.

Other single moms still have their children enrolled. Why?

I remember from schooldays the biblical thing about the sins of the father being visited on their sons, and how wrong it felt. There's no justice in arbitrary religion.

    Sorry

    What century are we in?

It is none of the schools business WHAT the mother does.

That's totally lame but legally, I believe the private school can do whatever they want regarding who can stay

They should be able to have standards. Seems like a shitty school though, as not even most Christians wait until marriage for sex. De facto coupling is more common these days.

    No it is not

Those kids got in on a scholarship so obviously they did something right. Now they are going to be punished for something someone else in the family did?

True but true christians would not blame the children or punish the children for the mothers actions. Where does it stop? Are they going to get every parent for fidelity to the marriage? Will they kick kids out of school because Mom has coloured her hair, worn sandals, worn a sleeveless top.......posed naked? Been in a lesbian photoshoot? Is the trophy wife of a billionaire who is a serial adulterer?

Unfortunately yes. The mother was given opportunity to live by the principles of the church and chose not to. It is completely within their right to place conditions on their members. And besides, we don't know why they received the scholarship to begin with. Sometimes these are simply given out because you are a member of a certain church that agrees to cover the tuition of it's members, sometimes they are given out for sports, but they always come with conditions.

I have seen this more than once, both with my children and as a student at a private Christian college. If one does not agree, they are free to not take the money and/or go to another school. That is why I never took their scholarships, I did not want to jump through the extra hoops.

If you read the statement made by the school, there are other reasons but they didn’t want to make them public.
Seems awfully strict and not something I’d do
but I’m sure there was warning about rules and behavior beforehand.

But she is not a member her children were

Again I ask, where is the cut off for demands on family members behaviour? Are you going to demand the same standard from every relative of every child?

Now let us say the mother of one of the kids got pregnant before she was married and was having an affair with the baby’s father before marriage, the father was already on wifey number two. The father then had an affair shortly after she gave birth, oh! And she has a history as a nude model

What was the sin? Did she deny anthropogenic-catastrophic-global climate change?
Did she deny that there is more than two genders? Did she deny that mothers should choose the slain? Does she want human beings to multiply, fill the Earth and subdue it? What was her sin?

It's the school's decision to make.
