House votes to kill impeachment effort against Trump

Well, it looks like there might be some sane Democrats left after all.

The squad has already done enough damage to the Democratic party and going for impeachment based on nothing but pure vitriolic hatred wouldn’t go over too well with the American people.

The Democrats are bruised and tattered and are picking up the pieces.

Rep Pelosi doesn't want to use impeachment in term 1. Her strategy with impeachment is predicated on the likelihood that Pres Trump wins a 2nd term. The Democrats very effectively used the Russian witch hunt to hinder Pres Trump's 1st term and should when he wins a 2nd term they will need something equally powerful. Good news is that despite the Russian hoax Pres Trump still delivered an amazing country for us which makes you think just how much better things would have been if Democrats had worked with him on some of these things.

Impeachment at the moment is a one party partisan affair. Impeachment looks like a political vendetta, revenge for losing an election. Impeachment could very well backfire on the democrats. Especially among independents. Losing or turning off independents with the election of 2020 coming up isn't something Democrats should be doing. My opinion anyway.

If you go to the generic presidential vote, question 31 you'll find out 26% of independents now plan on voting for the Democratic candidate, 29% for Trump, 21% state it depends. I take the it depends means that that group of independents will make up their minds who to vote for based solely on whom the Democrats nominate. Trump won the white house by winning the independent vote over Hillary Clinton. It could happen again, that is depending on whom the democrats nominate.
