As Trump and his followers try to paint Ilhan Omar as the embodiement of the democratic party, I can't help but notice that Trump followers now just attribute words and thoughts to her without any actual quotes. Looking through the internet, I honestly can find very few egregious things that she has said. Any of those things pale in comparison to what Trump has said before and after being elected.
I would love to have a contest to see who of the two has said the most anti american, antisemitic, racist or egregious comments.
    I'll start the ball rolling:

Ilhan Omar, in 2012 (7 years ago) said
“Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” The tweet implied that Israel and its supporters were secretly tricking the world into supporting it, a longtime anti-Semitic trope for which Omar apologized after taking office in January.
“I heard from Jewish orgs. that my use of the word ‘hypnotize’ and the ugly sentiment it holds was offensive,” she tweeted. “I spent ... little energy [in] disavowing the anti-Semitic trope I unknowingly used, which is unfortunate and offensive.”
    from a vox article

When talking about AIPAC and it's possible influence on members of congress she tweeted "it's all about the benjamins". Though she was talking SPECIFICALLY about influence of lobbies on politicans (where money actually IS the prime motivator). She has apologized unequivicoally for the statement.

The true answer is hard to come by because of the way the media treats Trump compared to Omar.

Then show me. I have heard crazy characterizations of Ilhan Omar by Trump supporters, yet I have yet to read quotes supporting them. I can go on all day with Trump quotes. Since Ilhan Omar is worse by "a long shot" you should have no problem doing so. So far, I have seen one video where she talks about a course she took where she described the teacher as putting on a serious voice when talking about muslim terrorists, and a video where she refuses to answer the assinine question "are you a communist and terrorist supporter". Both of those are really weak sauce. I will say it again, I am no fan of Ilhan Omar, but since Trump and his supporters have decided to take her on for all her allegedly anti American comments I challenge you to put up her quotes side-by-side with Trump's. Pretty sure who has said the worse things.
Here, I'll spot you guys the last of her incindiary comments:
Ans she didn't even say it, it was in an article by the washington post "America failed to live up to its founding ideals, a place that had disappointed her and so many immigrants, refugees and minorities like her"

Why should it matter who said the most egregious things. Neither of them should be above criticism.

What is tough to justify are the people who won’t call out Trump for anything, but call out Omar for everything. What is also problematic are those who call out Trump for everything, but will not criticize Omar over anything.

Looking at people thru partisan blinders only serves to reinforce the side of the argument one favors.

I won't label Trump as egregious because he criticized America throughout his campaign. But I will call him out on his hypocrisy for suggesting that politicians who do not agree with how the country is being run should leave. And, perhaps, his being short sighted for not realizing that his anti American words are all on tape.

I am particularly frustrated with folks like Paul Ryan. Waiting until they are out from under Trump to air his opinions. Where has courage of one's convictions gone?

Elected officials in the GOP will not risk a primary challenge by castigating the President. Very few if any incumbents are going to commit political suicide. Most people in Washington will not get themselves fired in the name of courage.

Have our expectations gone from who is virtuous to who is the least objectionable? What does it say about a public figure when supporters defend that figure with mine isn't nearly as nasty as yours is? Why can't we reject all who don't meet civilized standards?

    Agreed.
I voted for Trump an will vote for him again. I say he lied when he said he tried to stop the "Send her back" chants. The video shows otherwise. Trump lied. Not enough room to show all the quotes by Omar that show her anti-Jewish and anti-USA.
That's the definition of a "debate", and a party-line voter, and the MSM.

The Trump Club have certainly got a hard-on for Omar. They never let up with the hate and lies about her. It seems odd for them to focus so much on a Congresswoman from Minnesota, but I suppose they need someone to pick on. At the same time, because she is non-white, Muslim and an immigrant, she ticks a few boxes.. It is a similar story with AOC, of course, except that she is no immigrant (though Trump seemed to forget this).

I wonder how much of the online hatred and lies directed at her are actually coming straight from Russian agents attempting to stir up sh*t here the same way were doing in 2015-16. As we know thanks to Mueller et al., they make and push fake news and political faux memes to influence and manipulate a large number of Americans through social media in order to agitate and lend support to Trump, who is a terribly disruptive person in his own right now that he is in the nation's top political office, similar to how he was as a presidential candidate.

It is part of a sustained propaganda war against the Democrats, against centrists, and against the media, all of which are generally trustworthy sources of information and trustworthy actors in their respective national institutions. Attacking them is vital especially to the Russians, because that is how our society is ultimately broken down, leading our democracy to potential collapse. I've compared this type of attack, this information warfare of theirs, these "active measures," to a microwave, because it ignores conventional defenses and strikes right at the core of our nation and society. It disrupts and destroys us from within, the way a microwave heats and cooks foods from within by exciting the individual molecules. The Americans who are manipulated and radicalized by their efforts are analogous to those molecules.

I think I already posted that quote in the OP. I also explained that she was specifically speaking about undue influence of lobbies on members of congress. In this case, AIPAC lobbying for pro israely views. In fact it IS all about the benjamins, and if Donals Trump had said something like that you would be finding him refreshing and speaking plain truth. Oh wait he did say pretty much exactly that when running for president: Donald Trump at the Republican Jewish Coalition's Presidential Forum.
""You're not gonna support me because I don't want your money. You want to control your politicians, that's fine."
The difference being of course that despite talking specifically about the influence of money in politics, there is a trope of jews controlling the world through money that is offensive. Ilhan Omar apologized profusely for that tweet.
"Anti-Semitism is real and I am grateful for Jewish allies and colleagues who are educating me on the painful history of anti-Semitic tropes,” she said in a statement posted on Twitter. “My intention is never to offend my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole".
