Black family racially profiled while visiting Nike store in Santa Monica

I don't know how many shoplifting instances + Shoplifting accusations annually or how frequently the accusation turns out to be true, but I'm guessing there are millions. Seem right? It might be one of the most common infractions next to speeding and jaywalking.

Anytime when I start looking into the millions I'm willing to accept just about any confrontation being possible. Without trying to paint that one scenario with a broad brush.

If her intentions were not racial, why did she not offer an apology?

 

What I've always found odd is with the large number of homicides we have the teeny tiny percentage that actually hit the front page of the media. cops, mass shootings, the occasional celebrity, and then just a handful of other Oddball set for some reason become a big news story.

99+% of all homicides are pretty much ignored by the national media.

I guess the best analogy is we don't really ever care if 17 people die every few hours, we only care if 17 people die from a mass shooting or an airplane crash.

 

You know I actually gave that 10 seconds of thought because my first instinct was to not like that action but then again I considered that if I follow somebody for several blocks and they refused the simple request to providing a receipt until the cops got involved I probably would have walked away shaking my head and not set a damn word either.

Purely hypothetical though I haven't the slightest idea what was going on in her head.

Maybe she's a racist a hole maybe she's done that three times a week for the last 20 years maybe that's the first time, maybe she was just having a moment or in a bad mood, whatever. I haven't the slightest clue none of that info is provided.

Usually we don't hear the second part of the story until after everybody's picked a side that's the way the media likes to do things

 

Unfortunately, a few bad apples have given all blacks a bad reputation.

However, on a personal historical note back in the days when I was doing store security, working my way through college, the majority of my shoplifters were black...The stories I could tell....

 

They and they alone need to be responsible for what they did. The black guy who buys something and leaves a store with a receipt doesn't need to be accused of anything.

 

I didn't say there was a law that says you have to. You said there is a law that says the store manager can't ask to see it, there is no such law. It can save a lot of problems if you do show it. This is like people who cry "I refuse to show my ID to a police officer when asked because I don't have to". Yep you don't have to but it can sure save you a lot of grief and trouble. She saw them go through the checkout without paying for the ball. As they walked out she asked to see the receipt for it. What's the problem, why would any rational civil person not simply show the manager the receipt? I would and no problem, pilfering means higher prices for me. I wouldn't take it as some personal insult.

Funny that the other workers that waved goodbye to them didn't accuse them of anything. Funny now they had a receipt for the ball. Now she's fired. She brought it on herself.

 

When you can prove your theory that the majority of blacks commit crimes,let us know.

Funny so what? The manager saw them checkout without paying for the ball the child had picked up. Just show the receipt what's the big deal? I've been stopped at many stores and had to show a receipt.

And it's probably a BS story like that that led to her (quick) dismissal...

OTOH, I cannot see this evolving into an actual court case... the offender was fired and the couple got their money back.

What really is pisses me off about stories like this is that white liberals don't explain to blacks that this is normal behavior in white communities. I see story after story about blacks being offended by things that have literally happened to me in my own life. Then we get a bunch of idiot white liberals pretending like the behavior is unusual. Total bullshit.

In the latest rendition, a black politician takes 20 items into the express lane at the grocery store. A Latino immigrant calls her out on it, she goes on twitter blubbering like a little bitch and accusing him of her telling her to go back from where she came from and for having white privilege. The tweet goes viral and they interview the man and her together and we come to find out SHE told him to go back to where he came from. (For once they let the other side speak.... amazing).

PROTIP: If you are new to a white community, white people really really aren't down with jackasses taking a cartload of items into the express lane. You ain't gonna get a free pass just because you are minority.

 

So she says it was her child's first trip to the store and she was excited about making her first purchase at Publix. That's what a responsible parent does, takes their child to the store for their first purchase and shows her how you go through the express lane with more items than allowed? Wanna bet she was parked in a handicapped zone too?

Claiming a racial grievance is the red badge of courage a black person must be able to claim. We see if with feminist who all claim to have been sexually assaulted or inappropriately touched or something said because if they haven't well what's wrong with you, men don't want to have sex with your or something.

 

I clearly said Oprah was well dressed. She doesn't look like a hippy. Why are you asking a question in response to something that was not said? Looking at someone and assuming that they can't afford an item is discrimination. If you work for a store, your objective should be to sell the item, not refuse to show it based on attire, race or another subjective reason.

It is fair to conclude that Matt thinks that racial profiling is a problem, based on this thread. I also have strong reservations about its use. In my opinion, your stats are presented in a contrived manner, justifying racial profiling. You are perpetuating the profile that you claim to be incredulous about. Then you blame Matt, a person who is against such profiling, and you think your argument is logical and convincing. Lol - What a hoot!
