They sure did see through it -- and they voted for Trump because he was strong for the police.

How specifically did Obama "denigrate police departments throughout the US"?

There is no precedent for Barack Obama’s relentless attacks on the nation’s police officers and criminal-justice system. Simply put, the man twice elected to the country’s highest office routinely and repeatedly charges that cops and the courts are awash in systematic racial bias. “Too many young men of color,” the president told the Congressional Black Caucus in September 2014, “feel targeted by law enforcement, guilty of walking while black, or driving while black, judged by stereotypes that fuel fear and resentment and hopelessness. We know that, statistically, in everything from enforcing drug policy to applying the death penalty to pulling people over, there are significant racial disparities.”

President Obama has addressed the issue of police-involved shootings repeatedly over his two terms, and has done so consistently with one clear premise: the justice system is plagued by "systemic racism," both "conscious and unconscious." Hours before the orchestrated attack on police officers at a Black Lives Matter rally in Dallas that left five officers dead and six others wounded, Obama delivered a lengthy speech on racism in the police force and justice system, which, given its proximity to the attack, deserves to be looked at in its entirety.

Normal Americans shun Blacks Lives Matter as too radical, what with their leftist leanings and all. Obama embraced the organization, in spite of its call for violence against police.

The 'Hand's Up, Don't Shoot myth was propagated by Obama and the leftist media into an anti-police screed that directly led to police assassinations in Dallas and Baton Rouge.

Many young black men do feel targeted by law enforcement. How is saying how young black men feel denigrating law enforcement?

When you reinforce the belief that black people are specifically being targeted based of a few incidents....

    You end up having this

This is much more then "denigrating" to our law enforcement.

Young black me felt threatened specifically because of the false narrative Obama and his minions established.

So you agree that Obama did denigrate the police by giving credence to the Hand Up Don't Shoot myth? That he and other leftists created the myth that young black men were being targeted by white police officers?

That his support of the thuggish BLM was a clear indication of which side he was taking?

Police being disrespected and referred to as pigs has been going on for many many decades before Obama. I feel bad for the good cops. It’s a thankless job.

Most normal Americans have beliefs and morals similar to my own. They support their local police and look upon BLM as nothing more than leftist agitators who hate the police.

Indeed, most of us are well aware how the BLM rhetoric and lies, with the corrupt Obama providing a microphone, led to police officers being assassinated in Dallas, Baton Rouge and elsewhere.

Tell me, are you one of those liberals/progressives/socialists who still believe 'Hands Up Don't Shoot' is based on fact?

Over the years, a schism has developed between the cops and the citizens they are sworn to protect. To me, I think cops are getting trigger happy. Fear for their life so just blast away? That's what cops get paid for -- danger. It's in the job description. When I was a very young man (boy) I was told by parents and family that cops were good and they were there to help you. Now, as a senior citizen, cops scare me.

When driving, I keep my driver's license, insurance card, and registration at the ready. If pulled over I will definitely keep my hands at the top of my steering wheel and the exchange will be strictly yes sir, no sir. When cops are driving next to me, I am careful to avoid eye contact. They might pull me over. I fear any physical confrontation at my age because I would likely not survive it. I have a family member who was a cop that got fired for blatant racism. He's still a prick.

All this, and I'm white. What must it be like to be a racial minority?

Perhaps you should depend on facts instead of your feelings?

    https://abcnews.go.com/Health/fatal...r-predictive-civilians-race/story?id=64563567

The media has established a false narrative, beginning with their fake Hands Up Don't Shoot stories, that has led to an irrational fear amongst Americans.

I'll agree there are racist, horrible cops out there that shouldn't be in law enforcement. And some of these racist cops do, indeed, shoot black people and try to claim their lives were in danger. The majority of these racists have been prosecuted, though.

Don't let media-fueled fear rule your life...

I support police as I don’t believe in making sweeping generalizations based on a relatively few bad cops that do exist. But I also recognize there has been a history of racial prejudice against black men by law enforcement.

    I'd agree with this.

But the institutional racism in police departments has been greatly reduced since the 1960s, I'd think you'd agree. But just like you'll find racist teachers and doctors at times, you'll find racist cops.

But the media, especially during the Obama administration, established a narrative that a great number of police officers are racist, and unfortunately many ignorant people still believe this...

Just more proof that the BLM propaganda has been embraced and reinforced.

When you have grown people acting like they have the maturity of little children it speaks volumes.

What does that have to do with your comment..."established a narrative that a great number of police officers are racist"?

    To answer your question...no

Because the media was complicit, along with Obama, in furthering a narrative that police officers are racist.

Remember this from the leftist CNN?

I completely agree. I've never felt safe around cops and do not rely on them for protection. The institutionalized racism is stronger than you may think though.

More important though is the militarization of police departments. Johnny joins and wants to play soldier. They get trigger happy and kill some innocent kid.

But it sure displays how the media played up the whole racist white cop myth, doesn't it?

You should never rely on law enforcement for protection. They are there to catch the bad guy after his crime, for the most part. This is why the Second Amendment is so important.

And I'd agree with your assertion that police departments have been militarized to the detriment of the citizens they serve.

But your allegation of institutional racism is way off. Please provide examples if you wish to discuss this further...

You don't think there are ANY racist white cops? None? It was silly for some in the media to put their hands up like they did. But you can't say it's a myth regarding racists white cops. There are racists in all professions.

Best friend went into the Ohio State Patrol. A few months after training, he was amazed that the vet he was paired with was talking about "the good old days, when you could take a ****** behind a building and beat him.", and it just wasn't his partner. Fifteen years later, he holds the same attitude. His own daughter is repulsed by it. He is no longer my friend.

Are you reading my responses to you? You actually said you agree with me when I noted some cops, like teachers and doctors, are racist.

Perhaps you mixed me up with someone else?

See post #38, then we'll discuss...
