Do they really have no choice but to riot? How bad do things have to get for rioting to be acceptable? Does this qualify as a threat?

I'd say it qualifies as an appeal to the low-lifes, as incitement to riot, to violence... and of course, to blaming all of the unsatisfactory parts of your life on someone else, which will be corrected if you just give me what I want....

The problem with have nots is there is never enough to raise them to the level of Haves. Poor people tend to stay poor simply because they cant control or manage spending!

You're absolutely right. People are desperate because Democrats want them to be desperate. Desperate people vote for Democrats because only Democrats are experts at giving away other peoples' money. They out did themselves this week. In 2 days we saw proposals to give away $200T.

A father in the home usually provides a roadmap for 'marginalized' people to find their way out. That's why Democrats like LBJ and the current gaggle put in place systems that motivate working fathers to leave the home. 65% of the kids in Baltimore ghettos grow up in single parent homes ,,, that's black, orange and white.

There is no excuse for a riot. Protest, yes. Forceful exercise, perhaps. Rioting, chaotic violence, is insanity.

    And you are correct.
While getting ahead financially should include ways of raising the income, one must be able to manage income and expenses for that to provide long term gains.
For example, when you have a financial reserve, or savings, and an unexpected expense happens, you simply take care of it and keep moving forward, keep the revenue coming in..
If you do not have the funds to deal with it, the event may well cascade into larger problems and bring bring the cash flow to a dead stop.
When you income is small, your living expenses should be kept smaller- so you can build some savings to first buffer you from the inevitable "sh*t happens" incidents of life, and that in turn helps keep the growth of saving on track, and opens the door to additional earnings from savings, such as investing it.

If your level of spending increases at the same level as income does, and you are not spending that money on things that build and retain value, you gain nothing except temporary gratification- but no security.
No matter what level you are at, the process works on the same basis. The key requirements are good financial rules and the self-discipline to follow them.

Riots kill and hurt people and destroys private property and businesses. That tends to make the lives of those rioting and those in rioting areas worse.

Cortez, like most liberal extremists and many democrats, blame their dissatisfaction with life on everyone but themselves. If you believe in entitlements and that somebody owes you because you exist- then you also believe that in order to get what you want (and are entitled to) is to force them to give it to you. The endgame in that process, what is too often the mechanism chosen- is riots.

The people most prone to riots are the people least willing to manage their own lives; expecting government to do for them, and blaming society, particularly the most productive parts of it, for their condition. The irrational motivations are demonstrated in the focus of riots- such as general destruction of businesses, cars, anything in sight... most of which has absolutely nothing to do with causing what they see as their condition. Riots are like spoiled children whose tactic to get what they want is to make life miserable for everyone around until they get it.

What it seems like she's saying is that when things get so bad that people feel like none of their other messages or needs are being heard, they turn to rioting and then the messages are definitely heard. Not an incorrect statement. However I noted she said this immediately afterward:

So she's not saying it's the right thing or preferable to riot, just that it's an inevitable consequence of what happens when people's needs and wants are ignored for too long.

Leave is up to the typical pundits to distort her words and claim that she advocates for people rioting.

It is clear, however, if we continue on our path of ever increasing wealth disparity, riots will be our least problem. It's human nature, which the right wants to brush off by claiming that the have nots are where they are because of lack of personal responsibility.

Everyone reading "like, once someone doesn’t have access to clean water, they have no choice but to riot,” knows that there will be serious problems if the issue is not corrected.

At some point recently, even the lefty MSM stopped reporting on AOC. And since then she's become unhinged. Actually advocating for unlawful acts of violence? I thought there was a SCOTUS ruling about calling fire in a movie theater... I can't see how this is different...

If politicians make my drinking water unsafe to drink, is a public display of anger appropriate, yes.

She is not saying they should be a such violent riot and kill people that caused your water to be poison but yes.
Now this I thought was a talking point of the right with Jefferson's quote about government no longer serving the needs of the people

Rioting is not the only choice for the marginalized. Lowlifes riot. Heroes take up arms and revolt or build Killdozers.
