I've felt there's been strong...VERY STRONG evidence to support that theory at least as far back as during the Obama administration. Obama was constantly trying to remove guns and was Johnny on the spot trying following Sandy Hook and the Las Vegas incident saying America should be like the UK and Australia with total gun control. And then during the Parkland shooting, why did the entire police department stand down under DEMOCRAT sheriff Israel?

I want to bring my people around, but open derision from northerners and left coasters make it more difficult than it needs to be. A lot of what drives MAGA politics is an inferiority complex brought about by centuries of oppression. So no, you're not safer in Maryland, especially in Baltimore.

That is NOT going to happen so why keep bringing it up?

I don't have an answer for it, either but suppose approaching it from a mental health POV is probably the only realistic course.

The fact is we live in a fractured society where people stew in their own juices more than in the past. That, and the prevalence of drugs being prescribed for every real, imagined or invented ailment are big contributing factors IMO.

It's not the guns. They have always been here. These mass shootings on a regular basis have not.

 

There is no moral equivalence between the two parties. One is a center-left mainstream party currently favoring a centrist old white guy, of all people, and the other party is a white nationalist cult of personality. That's not just liberals saying that. There is some crazy **** going on in GOP-land, and some hard choices are going to have be made by them after this.

I didn't single out any state, I simply pointed out the three states that had low Spanish speaking populations and just like usual, it produced a mindless right-wing reaction of denial. Maps vary in quality based on the scales used, but I noticed a sharp decline of Spanish speaking people at the Texas border with Louisiana and that pattern stretched thru Alabama. The pattern also penetrates thru Tennessee and into the Appalachian areas, which makes sense. Those aren't areas of great opportunity. I've been checking the demographics of the poorest US counties for years.

 

And you should know, but haven't learned the lessons of thousands of years of human history

 

How the F would I know how many criminals go hiking? What is important to me is that people were being attacked on a trail I hike on.
