Your number is grossly exagerated. It's actually about 0.00001% of the population.

They're wasting money. Tracking programs arent just ineffective and unconstitutional, they're also expensive.

The term "gun control" is misleading. There is no way to control who has a gun or what they do with it. You refer to the money, but the NRA is outspent 20 to 1 by the other side.

Heck the people armed themselves into neighborhood militia's. I've been through it, 3 weeks after Ivan we were without power and the street blocked. I don't have any guns but was glad I live where most do and the would be criminals a marauders know it.

And if you read the Constitution Convention minutes and writings one of the key reasons for a 2nd amendment was for self protection when the government can't protect you. I hope the police were sued and those who violated her rights and did an unwarranted take down and injured here were fired.

It's a fluke of history that Australia didn't have to fight for her independence. It can be said that the United States fought it for her 150 years earlier. We paid the way. The American Revolution changed everything. It changed the U.S. and it changed the British.

Fighting for its own liberty isn't in Australia's institutional memory, it's not part of it's history.

The US on the other hand has fought for her freedom time and again. America severed it's subservience to a king and fought a bloody war with both loyalist subjects within as well as the British Armed Forces. She also repelled the French the Spanish and the Crown for a second time. All the while she waged a long brutal war with the indigenous Indian.

America also fought with herself for these freedoms it holds so dear. As noted above the revolution was more Colonist v Colonist than Patriot v British. Then of course there was America's civil war.

America fights for its freedom, it's in its blood so to speak and effects the collective soul.

Australia, it is a back water and, luckily, from her inception has been protected by benevolent alies saved from the fight for freedom in a harsher main stage world. Enjoy.

    Cheers

How many are white males who have been indoctrinated by media, public school and others into believing they are the root cause of all of societies problems and because of their white privilege they are nothing but a useless pile of human crap, not deserving to breathe the same air as everyone else who is not a filthy white male?

And after the first man of color was busted the ACLU would shut that down in a heartbeat.

Just ask the residents of Chicago how well gun control laws work.

It wouldn't matter if it will save lives. Safety is not the highest value. Freedom is the highest value. I don't want or need your protection.

Abortions aren't particularly safe for the fetus, but we err on the side of freedom. There have been 50 million black people killed by abortion. Do you agitate for their safety, or do you allow them the freedom to make their own decisions?

That's because it was a dumping ground for criminals who where transported there by those who didn't want them around anymore.

It also doesn't help the left through it's policies and it's Democrat politicians has turned many once fine cities into urban s-holes where violence, drugs and other crimes rule the streets.

It does have some parallels with the U.S., some of it's urban areas are awash with drugs, violence and gangs, and it also has an ever increasing non-assimilating Muslim population many of whom are ultra-violent in the same manner as Omar's district.

Why not just start locking people up who are caught with a gun without a permit.

I have a dozen guns I inherited from my Dad.
I have a class A license to carry large capacity.

If they made guns illegal tomorrow, my dozen guns go into hiding. The government will never find them and they have no idea I have them other than the fact I have a permit.

If I get caught, I will pay the price, but I won’t get caught & they are never getting my guns.

I don’t even use the guns anymore, but I am sure not going to give them up to please the left.

Everyone would be interested in such proof but the question is can you pull it off? Some of our most deadly cities have the tightest gun control measures in the country so you've got a tough sale to make.

    Permit?

The 2nd Amendment is my permit.

I think its worth noting that Canada abandonned its long gun registry a decade ago because it cost a lot and solved nothing. Given theres not much difference between a registry and UBCs (same info tracked), its more evidence that UBC isn't worth the cost.

Point of order: The 2nd amendment references my permit which are my natural rights.

Some people demand comprehensive registration, tracking, auditing, re-registration, and background checks for firearms ownership but then a lot of those same people oppose voter ID programs. I know its apples vs oranges but if we're going to brand & tag gun owners then why cant we just check IDs at the polling place? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why not do the correct thing and hand out long prison sentences for criminals who misuse guns, no need for permitting which is unconstitutional.

It has been proven beyond a doubt prosecuting and sentencing criminals to long periods in prison reduces gun crimes significantly.

Oh wait, you will find the same people who advocate more gun control laws are also the same people who rail against imprisoning criminals.

It's cute that you think the Government can not track who you actually are when you use an internet forum. I don't think your secret is a secret anymore.

The FBI could find me, but they have no reason to look for me.

The local cops couldn’t find me in a million years the way I have my VPN ricochet.

I also have zero social media footprint & my email is a secondary unused account.

Dude one of the mass shooting whackos was actually on this site a few years ago. It was in the news briefly and everything.
I guarantee you the feds at least swing by this place occasionally and trace whoever seems most unstable.
