Have you not heard any politician recently?
Biden for instance is demanding semi autos be banned. I own only semi autos, apart from a shared collection of bolt action antiques I dont shoot often because you dont do that with antiques. Because you know... I use modern technology (relatively, only about a century old) for actual use and antiques as a hobby.
I went to a liberal law school, I've met several rather grabby sorts.

I have asked for an example of many people. Never a a responsive answer. So, I gave up using tight language, and lapsed into broader possibilities.

Banning semi-autos isn't "disarming you" any more than banning popsicles constitutes a ban on ice cream.

Since I own multiple semi autos, it would LITERALLY be disarming me as I'd have to surrender them.

What color is the sky where you live?

You would still have the right to replace them with bolt action or lever action, and maybe even pump-action. YOU. ARE. NOT. DISARMED.

Seeing as how the cops would keep select fire, and since I'm literally being divested of the arms I use for protection I. WOULD. BE. BEING. DISARMED.

Particularly because to do so means you've destroyed the 2nd amendment which means whether you take the rest now or not you'll come for them soon.

    Listen carefully: absolutely not.

The 2nd Amendment is not violated by a ban on semi-autos. Beyond that you're not making sense. I don't know what you're saying.

Wow! That's pretty low self-esteem you have there. Given that you were the one who brought it up. Not only that, you intentionally misinterpreted it.

You brought up Heller and...I quote you: "Prohibitions on firearms that are in common use for legal purposes are unconstitutional under all levels of scrutiny."

On my end, the part I brought up has aaaall the relevance. Not because SCOTUS decided anything. But because it makes it clear that SCOTUS did not decide what you claimed it decided (your terminology is perfect: explained "for those who are too ignorant"). Here it is again: "The Court’s opinion should not be taken to cast doubt on [...] laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms." In other words, SCOTUS does not overturn those laws that allow exactly what I am proposing. And which you said Heller would not allow.

So your mention of Heller, according to your own admission here, was irrelevant and absurd. But not only that... .you misrepresented it intentionally.

In other words: you made a huge mess of your own "arguments" (if we can loosely call them that)

I just wanted to point that out but, as I said, I'm more than done with you.

It is. In fact, the current NFA and Hughes amendment to FOPA violate the 2nd amendment.

I do understand that you dont understand anything about firearms or constitutional law.

And I do understand your need to spin and pull out your "law school" card to try to intimidate people into surrendering. Sorry. As long as a person can own a firearm, his 2nd Amendment right is preserved. The S.C. ruled that ALL amendments are subject to limitations.

    It's not a card dude, it's a law license...

They also ruled in us v Miller that ordinary military equipment is the protected class of arms and guess what ordinary issue for our military is? Select fire m4 or m16

I think it's a misnomer to look at it as one problem. I don't think it is.

The reason the Parkland shooter murdered people at Marjory stoneman Douglas high was different than the Santa Fe murderer and both of those were different than the Charleston shooter.

So a one size fits all solution seems to be unreasonable.

The reason these people do it is typically indifference to human life. How can you stop that...I don't know, I don't know if it's possible.

It's not really arguable that lack of an involved father has negative effects on boys.

If there is anything that can be observed at least among the younger shooters it's that they lacked an involved father.

I think you're right about that indifference to life. But we didn't used to have these indiscriminate mass shootings, and so it's important to try to figure out why we do now.

When did we not used to have indiscriminate mass shootings? Before guns were ever invented sure but there were mass murders with different weapons.

It just seems that the body count has increased over the last couple of years. To the point it makes national news. Keep in mind mass murder is killing 4 or more people.

So really the only trend that is increasing is body count. I attributed this to The Creation and existence of soft targets.

Maybe you better tell me. I’ve been told repeatedly today by banners I’ll be SWATed etc. for having semiautomatic rifles.

Are you saying I should be stupid enough to stock up on something that will be banned? Or stock up to fight back? Who’s going to ban “the damn things”? It’s hard to make sense of your posts full of talking points with no critical thought. If you aren’t advocating for violence against people who don’t want their rights violated, then you have my apologies. And my gratitude that you haven’t gone completely round the bend like your comrades. If you aren’t advocating violence, how to you propose to implement numerous violations of citizen’s rights who may not appreciate it?

Of the 25 deadliest mass shootings since 1949, one of them occurred in 1949. None of them happened in the 1950s, and only one of them happened in the 1960s, and one in the 1970s.

I think these facts are telling us something, aren't they?

How are they defined as deadly by body count?

Again the only trend seems to be higher body counts.

This could be attributed to the proliferation of soft targets.

Yes, that list is compiled by body count. But back in the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s there were soft targets everywhere. But hardly any indiscriminate mass shootings. Why?

My older brother bought 5 SKSs when they did the old assault weapons ban and he already had two AK types. Some people collect guns, people have guns for a bunch of reasons, sometimes they may just be a remembrance of the person who had it.

I expect another assault weapons ban, I've been thru this before. We can't have people buying weapons as destructive as this and wearing body armor. The Dayton shooting only seems minor in the amount of casualties and we were very lucky police could engage and neutralize someone with body armor that quickly.

Couldn't you mail order guns too back in the day?

I live in Indiana and I asked some of the older guys at my work and they said everybody had shotguns in their truck windows in highschool and guys would come to school with Bowie knifes from coon hunting before school

Yes, you could get them by mail order back in the day. That's how Lee Harvey Oswald got the rifle he used to kill President Kennedy. He just sent a check to a distributor, and it was mailed to him.
