I know he recently passed away, but if he was alive and physically capable he'd win as a 3rd party in 2020. People are sick of Trump and all the Democrats are crap.
He was right about one thing, the giant sucking sound south of the border. That did happen and the only one that wants to fix it evidently is Trump.
I don't think so. The partisans will never leave their party. And 40% of voters are Independent. And most all those 40% would have to go 3rd party. Not real likely.
Why "trust" anybody in politics? But trying to inject partisan hackery here is pretty weak. Both major parties supported it (including both George Bush and Bill Clinton). And Trump wasn't even a Republican back then. And he's not really one now.
We would need a Perot/Buchanan hybrid. Oh wait. I think that is Trump. Look. He's a vulgar man. But he cut taxes, got a great economy, is fixing our trade deals to help the USA. He's working to keep us out of foreign entanglements. He deserves your vote, even when the unhinged left and their media allies call this guy with a Jewish daughter (converted) he obviously adores, a Jew hater. Y'know, the guy that made Jerusalem the home of the US embassy as promised? The guy that is over seeing an economy with record highs for black people is a white supremacist? What "crap" are US Citizen sick off? "Winning?"
Oh lord. I campaigned for Perot. In fact I still have the button. For a time he sounded good. But he proved to be a freakin nut and I didn't vote for him.
I think if an independent stood a chance, Trump would have run as such. Our system doesn't allow for third parties and independents in the presidential race. Too many voters are convinced of this for such a candidate to get very many votes. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I think 2016 was his best chance. That was when 58% of the electorate disliked Hillary, 60% disliked Trump. When 6% of all voters voted for third party candidates that they had no idea who they were, no money, no name recognition, no media coverage, no debates, just because their last name wasn't Trump nor Clinton. Perot had some money and would have been better known. The League of Woman's voters allowed him in the debates. The League paid a heavy price for that though as the two major parties took the debates away from them. How dare they allow a third party or independent candidate into the debates. In 1992 Perot won 30% of independents. With 54% of independents disliking both Trump and Clinton in 2016, Perot could have won that group decisively. Remember 12% of all independents voted third party against both Trump and Clinton. Perot gaining 50% plus in this group in my opinion would have been likely. Perot received 17% of the Republican vote in 1992, 13% of the Democratic vote. I'm not sure that would have changed much. Would Perot have won, that pure speculation. He certainly would have done much better than the unknowns who garnered 6%. Certainly with his name recognition and finances, he would have done much better than the 19% he received in 1992. Perhaps we can speculate on the favorable/unfavorable ratings on election day 2016 for Hillary and Trump, on election day of 1992 for Perot. Hillary 38% favorable/56% unfavorable Trump 36% favorable/60% unfavorable Perot 1992 51% favorable/40% unfavorable For those interested in 1992 Bill Clinton 64% favorable/33% unfavorable, G.H.W. Bush 59% favorable/ 40% unfavorable. Here's the entire list of major party candidates. Highest to lowest favorable/unfavorable ratings of each major party presidential candidate. Favorable/unfavorable 1956 Eisenhower 84/12% 1964 LBJ 81/13% 1976 Carter 81/16% 1960 JFK 80/14% 1960 Nixon 79/16% 1968 Nixon 79/22% 1976 Ford 79/20% 1972 Nixon 76/21% 1968 Humphrey 72/28% 1984 Reagan 71/30% 1980 Carter 68/32% 1984 Mondale 66/34% 1980 Reagan 64/31% 1992 Bill Clinton 64/33% 2008 Obama 62/35% 2012 Obama 62/37% 1956 Stevenson 61/31% 2004 G.W. Go back a read what you commented on. tRUMP was never mentioned. Just the party you represented that sent most of the jobs out of country.
A viable third party would be the average American's dream. Sadly it will never happen both established political parties would do everything in there power to destroy it. The Republicans and Democrats could not unite if this country faced a real crisis threatening our basic way of life in anyway, shape or form. Now if a third party, started gaining favor, winning elections, and started receiving national media attention. The two existing parties would both slander and discredit it out of existence.
Do you recall that he claimed thugs paid by the Bush family crashed and ruined his daughter's wedding? It got really weird. And he got his butt kicked by a girl. - Katie Couric. Then he got nasty and very unmanly, like trump.
Clinton. American worker traitor. Who is the brain child. RW hero. Reagan. Upset hr could not sign it. I guess both parties are traitors to America. Why do you support 1? I don't.
