Don't they? Health and life insurance both ask about your smoking and drinking habits

All true.... and then Obama took over and proceeded to lose 200,000 manufacturing jobs so that after 8 years of Obama their situation became ever more hopeless and desperate. And then Hillary campaigned on promising to continue Obama's course and put miners out of business....

Thank god for Trump, with 500,000 manufacturing jobs he has created in less than 3 years, the heartland is finally climbing out of the horrendous hole both GWB and Obama drove them into. Duh. Learn!

Trying to get people to register their guns for insurance purposes will result in the same widespread failure to comply. Any attempt to remedy that problem will be read by gun owners as an attempt at confiscation.

You live in a country that has the highest gun-murder rate of any developed nation on earth.

And you are trying to tell me that it's the fault of the pervasive ability to have rapid-shooting arms that kill-people in large quantities.

And you want the rest of us to believe that perfidious nonsense.

Enough of your assinity. You go on Ignore ...

There! You've just proved your unable to hold a debate the content of which is greater than one sarcastic line.

You too go on Ignore ... !

People who express problems without presenting a solution only care about being right. When proving a point is more important then solving a issue our country should consider itself doomed. Negative actions like mass shooting are necessary in the sense that they provide a platform for our people to join together. If we look past the shootings and gun control and race issues then we are only left with the core issues of our society. The media and our educational institutions must combine to make a higher level of education something to be desired. Then people with mental health issues along with those who are easily manipulated can be pushed in the direction of using a writing utensil instead of the sword.

Yes, well that is the problem - isn't it. "Legally owned". The law is dead-wrong!

That carnage is coming to Your Town - not to worry.

Sooner or later, with all the guns that exist, Uncle Sam wont even be able to defend himself from the slaughter!

Imagine, people shooting it out at Mcdonalds over the parking-space!

    Dreadful sight ... !

    WILFUL ARROGANCE

It is an accident of history. The country has always been that way since the American Revolution. We think it is birthright. (And, of course, the law stipulates it in that manner.)

Take it away, and people will truly by up-in-arms!

What we fail to understand is that, what was good for us two-centuries ago is not necessarily best for most of us today. But we are incapable of considering that dichotomy.

But the events recently haVE shown clearly the dark path down which the "freedom to own murderous weapons" has taken us all. And it's nothing new. The drama keeps repeating itself over and over and over . Ad nauseam!

Frankly, I could not be concerned in the least. Like free healthcare and a free tertiary-education for my children, and strict gun-laws are all aspects of my life today that I ENJOY here in Europe! Which too has its massacres! But they are not home-grown. They are happening here (in Europe) because "here" is closer to "over there" where the religious madmen have spawned and furthered the carnalge*.

That's good enough for me, myself and my family! Uncle Sam can do whatever the hell he thinks or wants. The rest of the world is just shaking its head and looking away in disbelief.

    Uncle Sam -
once the greatest and freest country on earth, consumed in the crossfire of its own willful arrogance ...

*As many European soldiers as American are fighting and dying nowadays in the Middle-east or Africa. Because if they don't, that war will "come home" wherever we live - in Europe or the US.

What I said is true. You offered a challenge against your statement and I accepted the challenge and proved you are wrong.
    Was it very painful?

Are they telling the truth knowing it costs more? Are you OK with anyone getting caught for DUI paying double the car, health and homeowners insurance premiums?

My intention was to encourage you to become informed, not be savage. The poignancy now becomes evident with your reply.

You live in France, or am I misremembering?

It’s impossible to have meaningful debate with someone who doesn’t have a grasp of relevant facts.

Some people must have the last word in any debate exchange.

    You've had yours.

    Feel better now ... ?

I’d feel better if you would fill us in on the suicide rates by race in your European country.

White Frenchman are offing themselves like nobodies business.

I’d feel better if you acknowledged your error in claiming automatic and semiautomatic weapons are unobtainable in your paradise.

I’d feel better if you actually had some experience with the people you accuse of white supremacy. You are repeating things you’ve been told. You’ve been told lies.

I’d feel better if you would respond to the very well researched and written responses you’ve got with more than putting the posters on ignore.

I’d feel better if you didn’t keep doubling down on blaming inanimate objects for societal problems.

I’d feel better if I knew you would never leave the paradise of Europe. People like you scare me.

    ENOUGH SAID? APPARENTLY NOT?

Do you know how hard it is to buy a handgun in the UK (which is key to reducing homicide rates)? And when you are hell-bent on havoc, when you can't buy legally an automatic-weapon, what does one employ? A knife.

From here: Firearms policy in the United Kingdom - Wikipedia

Firearm-related death rate per 100,000 population per year (Homicide):
Enough said? Apparently not for the aberrantly sick-of-mind and hell-bent on their "right to own a firearm". When a nation abuses that "right", it should be taken away from them ... !

Why do we care if people are killed by a gun, as opposed to being thrown out of a window? Either way, it is a homicide. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...er-rate-higher-than-new-york-citys/480860002/

Ahem ... now lemme-see. How do I answer such an mindless question?

That the overwhelming number of resulting deaths nationally does not seem to have occured to you. And yet, THE RIGHT-TO-LIFE IS THE MOST BASIC OF HUMAN RIGHTS for which all efforts must be made for it to be protected?

And guns-guns-guns are allowing just the opposite to occur in a country with an outrageous rate of gun-related human manslaughter?

    Yeah, it's that ...

    Post Scriptum:

And that does not even go to the heart of the problem - which is that of Income Disparity. If we look at the gun-related incarceration rate the answer is staring us in the face, from the Guardian: The surprising factors driving murder rates: income inequality and respect - excerpt:
