I suppose you noticed that NO righty ever suggests or supports my ideas on criminal CEOs .

 

That would entail the firing of many unpatriotic and law breaking Republicans. Small wonder why the government refuses to arrest them.

 

Over my many years, I have known more lefties who go to church and to synagogue than do righties. And unlike the latter, those lefties actually practice, not just preach, the lessons taught in the Bible and in their religions.

 

Another reason is that is much easier to hate on the poor and defenseless than it is to go after the rich and powerful....THAT takes COURAGE...

 

I'm fine with that, but you misapprehend who is hiring illegals. Most illegals work as day laborers in agriculture and construction. Many others work as personal servants for rich people, nannies, gardeners, etc. Very few illegals work for Fortune 500 companies.

 

Exactly. So then what happens? Those companies that have been using essentially slave labor to do slave work will have to pay Americans American wages and improve working conditions for American workers. You lefties want companies to pay a living wage, don't you? Well, make them stop using foreign labor that will work for less than a living wage and they will f'ing have to pay a living wage to get workers.

 

Like I said, there won't be enough people. The immigrants contribute a lot to the economy, help it to grow. Look at how low the unemployment rate is, if companies can't hire people they can't grow. People=growth.

 

I find it telling and sad that the folks complaining about "Slave Labor" and American workers are likely the same folks who hate unions and champion "Right To Work" legislation.

If you're referring to the minimum wage, you're right, you cannot mandate a living wage by fiat. You have to get it through the free market. Raising the minimum wage just puts the least employable people out of work. The minimum wage is the last remaining remnant of the now completely debunked Keynesian economic theory, that being that the economy can be defined by the wage of the lowest paid worker, therefore if you raise that number, you grow the economy. Doesn't work like that. If you grow the economy, however, you raise the wage of the lowest paid worker, unless of course you're importing millions of people who will work for less than your own citizens.

 

No. Smart people grow the economy. Stupid people, like 99% of illegal aliens, take far more out of the economy than they contribute. Even the working illegals still get health care and education at American expense, so we're paying more than they are contributing. Ship 'em all back.

It's amazing to me how many of the Evangelicals in the US have NO idea of what things are like in Latin America.

There is a whole branch of Christianity there called "Liberation Theology" They are very prominent in supporting Leftists and leftist causes, some are even revolutionaries.

 

This is very important, albeit a bit off topic from atheism.

It is abundantly clear that many employers depend upon “”illegals”
Some even recruit such workers because they need them.... for what ever reason
These employers often engage in facilitating evasion of the mechanisms in place to prevent hiring of illegals... they basically explain to people what the rules are and what are the best ways to do things so that the employer will retain plausible deniability.

The fact is that very many countries have similar problems that people want to come and work illegally.
And very many countries are mor serious about preventing evasion of these rules
And very many countries have therefore implemented rules that are effective in controling this problem
These rules include prosecution of employers

I am not aware of a single instance where an employer has been prosecuted or punished
And that begs an answer to the question. If we are REALLY serious about this illegal worker issue, why are no employers being punished?

The fact is that these companies will not be hiring a legal work force
Nor will they shut down....
So what do we think will happen?
They will find a way to get around the law
And we will look the other way
That is what will happen
And we ALL KNOW IT

 

First of all the undocumented contribute billions in social security . And you believe that “illegal aliens” are practically all stupid? And I bet you don’t think you have a bigoted bone in your body!
Why don’t you get upset over the people that exploit them? The ones that can pay them way below minimum wage? They pay many under the table so they don’t have to give them any protection.Obviously we have different values.

 

It’s amazing to me how many professed Christians want illegals treated like dirt, which includes illegals from Mexico and Central America who are also Christians.
