The Democrats declare that the SCOTUS must "heal" itself... Desperation is setting in, hard.

    Several high-profile Senate Democrats warned the Supreme Court in pointed terms this week that it could face a fundamental restructuring if justices do not take steps to "heal" the court in the near future.

    What does that mean? That they believe the court is "sick", apparently evidenced because their decisions are not adequately conforming to democratic wishes; and if they can't control that in the existing SCOTUS, they will introduce legislation to expand the number of justices in an effort to re-balance the court to favor them. It's like saying that you keep changing or adding judges until you get a majority ruling the way you want, and measure competence of the court by how often they give you your way.

    I see this as a rejection of the role of the court which has successfully existed and functioned as it is from the beginning, and the insistence it become a representative of their own politics rather than the constitution and the law. That would be the ultimate "Do-Over".
    Just eliminate the purpose of the court, make it a democrat rubber stamp.

    Will Americans buy political desperation as a justification for that? I think not. Most of us aren't that stupid.

    It was never quite so political in the past!!Today justices are picked strictly on their political leanings.It really makes a mockery of justice, which is supposedly blind.

    The “Democrats” are partly right but not for the same reason(s). SCOTUS has been in violation of the Constitution (exceeded its constitutional authority in violation of the 10th Amendment) since Marbury v Madison (1803). Adding more black robed unelected lawyers for life will not change anything though. The corruption is rampant and only an Amendment might curtail their seized power. And I’m pretty sure that will never happen.

    The last part was quoting language from a Quinnipiac University poll, in which 51 percent favored such restructuring. In the same poll, 55 percent believed the Supreme Court was "motivated by politics" more than by the law.

    So...........Several high-profile Senate Democrats pointed out that the public may demand a fundamental restructuring of the Court due to the public's belief "the Supreme Court was "motivated by politics" more than by the law."

    You got that part right, the rest not so much. The “propagandists” are the US government, seizing powers on a daily basis well beyond those granted by the Constitution. And hoping The People are too ignorant to notice. And it obviously works quite well for all those in power.

    Ruth Ginsberg doesn't think the SCOTUS has been politicized by Trump's appointments. Kavanaugh & Gorsuch have alternately cast the deciding vote on key issues, siding with the courts more liberal minority. Packing the court until you get the decision you want IS politicizing the court. The SCOTUS isn't an offshoot of congress. It is the 3rd branch of government.

    Congress will be dissolved before the SCOTUS becomes corrupted. The (D)'s are paving the way for the US House to be packed with (R)'s in 2020.

    Also, trump is trying to pack the courts with right-wing ideologues and law enforcement departments have been infiltrated with white nationalists.
    We're going to have to do a lot of house cleaning after trump is gone to make America great again.

    If you really want to understand the workings of the court, check out which justices vote together and how often. Liberal justices - radicals - vote in unison most of the time. Conservative justices, not nearly as ideological, vote to preserve the Constitution.

    Democrats in the Senate are angry that we still have the Liberty our founders fought for and will do anything to strip it away, to include continuing their politicization of the court.

    Obama stacked the police departments, giving us Ferguson, Baltimore, and NYC riots. Problem is all the big cities are Democrat and the police departments heavily populated by blacks. But continue trying to divide the country.

    Radical Leftists try to intimidate people they disagree with all the time. Fact is they have nothing in common with most Americans. I doubt intimidation is going over well with justices who cherish the separation of powers that they have historically enjoyed. This bunch of unAmericans are disgusting.

    I'm thinking the Liberals on the court are in need of healing. Perhaps we should heal the court while we have the Senate and White House. A few more Americans on the court would be good.

    Remember Charlottesville? Reactionary unite the white right tried to intimidate people, which they attempt to do in language and posture. Fact is they do not represent American values and have almost no connection with mainstream American virtues. SCOTUS looks at them with no good will. They are relics of the past, their unAmerican beliefs are unwholesome.

    Utter BS, for the last fifty years the courts have been used to do things leftist politicians were afraid to touch, everything from gay marriage to racial gerrymanders and a hell of a lot of things in between. The Courts have always been political. Your just starting to realize it now that it doesn't agree with your agenda.
