Read the law, they do not in fact BAN even automatic weapons, they require a special permit. Clearly you don't really understand the law that is written and you want to expand such ignorance into another whole class of firearms? I think not. It would be unconstitutional because it would automatically cripple any future militia from having the requisite equipment to fulfill Constitutionally sanctioned duties...

I'm simply saying if you want go down the 'well regulated militia' road you have to remember that militia members provided their own weapons. Firearms and cannons aren't the only available weapons these days, and judging by all other Supreme Court decisions based on technological advancement, the citizen's rights would expand with the technology, not be further restricted. Unlike liberals, the Supreme Court is rarely mired in blatant hypocrisy...

They aren't banned now, you just want to toss that out there. The very thing many gun grabbers argue, the 'well regulated militia' is what would make banning automatic and semi-automatic weapons unconstitutional. Granted the militias are a separate item from private ownership, but they are Constitutionally sanctioned, and as such the weapons that are supposed to be provided for the militia are to be provided by the private citizen. Using all past decisions regarding the Constitution and advances in technology, the militias would have to have access to modern technology.

Granted there is plenty of precedent to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of individuals, as mishandling them would violate the rights of others, most other military equipment would not. As it stands most people are happy to keep the 2nd Amendment fight focused only on small arms, we should keep it that way, or a whole lot of gun control measures would soon come under scrutiny that have been left alone...

The United States is one of the most diverse countries on earth and is also one of the most violent. Switzerland has gun laws that are at least on a par with the United States and possibly more lax and their incidents of gun violence are vanishingly small. They differ from the United States in that they have far far less diversity.

Diversity is not our strength... it is the necessary component for Balkanization and eventual civil war. If you think tens of millions of conservatives are just going to hand over their means of protection in a time when the Republic has never looked more frail, you are completely delusional. It is a non-starter. You can bluster and protest all you want, you can coerce the politicians to pass any laws you want, but you aren't ever going to get our guns short of massive state violence.

 

Um, the claim that Trump was the cause for the El Paso shooter with his incendiary comments regarding Illegal immigrants as that was in his Manifesto. The Dayton shooter used the same exact language as AOC with climate change and concentration camps.
