We offered them $100 million in 1947 but they wouldn't sell.
Everything has it's price though and Denmark could use the cash. I'd never say never.
Maybe we could make a trade? Puerto Rico for Greenland and Iceland?
Denmark probably wouldn't want it even if it was given to them. Maybe half of HI?

Good !! You are an intelligent person you are aware the Putin is working on resurrecting the CCCP. Too many Trump supporters are just drowning in the delusion of his chanting of "no collusion" and translate that to "Russia is OK".

The air base at Tule and all of the other military facilities are needed especially with the reinvented Russian threat to the world. BUT, you know there is always a but we do not make money off of Tule or the other facilities the Danes in one way or another. So we do not make money off of our basis.

with a population of 56,687 compaired to 321+million, sure... btw, there are many, many towns in the usa with much lower murder rates than those scandinavian sh*tholes, so what's your point, other than badmouthin the usa to fit your agenda?

    From the Chinese, of course.

Trump buys the island, and China holds the mortgage.

The up side is that the Chinese are more reliable and trustworthy than the Russian gangsters that Trump normally does business with. He would go to them, but they can’t carry the note.

They are? Have you ever been there?

I have. And all of them have very high standards of living. All of them have significantly better health care and social services. All of them are squeaky clean and very safe.

Norway might be able to swing the deal for cash, our of their sovereign wealth fund, unlike the US which would have to borrow the money.

Millions and millions of tourists go hand drilling down past the permafrost, and golfing in Greenland.

Yeah they all used tax payers dollars too...and the the country benefited greatly.

I’m sure there were butt hurt saps that bashed Jefferson, Monroe and Stewart as well. Looks like you’ll go in history with those folks.

Historically, this isn’t the first time the United States has thought of making this purchase, I doubt it would ever actually happen, but this would be a great, better green deal then anything the socialist have proposed.

No, fact. The US State Dept. actually did inquire about buying both Greenland and Iceland at one time.
"The WS Journal also reported that the State Department inquired about purchasing Greenland and Iceland from Denmark in 1867."
The Kingdom of Iceland could probably be bought too, at the right price. I don't think we are interested it anymore though.

Tried before by Truman in 1946. You evidently don't think China is an issue.

Seward and his Ice Box were a complete laughing stock for many years.

imo Jefferson and Monroe were recognized as geniuses pretty quickly, especially Jefferson.

That's just the way history walks forward and makes its footprints.
