It may often feel that advances aren't being made but, since Obama, the conversation has moved away from wedding cakes, mixed gender toilets and burkas. The fake media is being exposed, they can't hide it anymore, and the general public is recognizing this.
Yes. I bought his book directly from him, not knowing at the time I'd enjoy it so much. Another unpretentious Conservative. I haven't been following him but I certainly will now. The Med is pricey all right but we can always wait until we're younger. Burning Man is on the Bucket List.
I believe he was born in Hawaii. From what I've read, it's not so rare for half white men to be born there. Also, Obama is not shaded "black" per your definition. He would be shaded light brown, which per Webster is a different color. Is there a reason you tried to contradict yourself about Obama being half-white? This is brutal for you, dude
Allright!! Hawaii!! Although you didn't actually phrase it as a question, so no points for you... And you were having the half-white argument with @MissingMayor. You can take up DNA proportions with him. To the history books, Obama is the first black president of the USA.... Watch out!! It's possible we'll have another in 2020, however slim the chances now...
Yes. Snopes really has it out them. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...of-its-bizarre-grudge-against-the-babylon-bee
What makes you a militant believer? As opposed to just a believer. IMO, Militant means one has the means necessary to engage with military type power. Whether aggressive or defensive.
That is a very narrow view of "militant". Ever hear of the phrase "the pen is mightier than the sword"? Militant also simply means a "firm believer". One who will defend some sort of belief or ideology no matter what. You don't need military power to do so. You can defend or attack with words just as much as you can with a gun. People don't go to war simply because those in power tell them to. People will go to war when you convince them, with words. Even after 9/11 people needed to be convinced to go to war against Iraq and Afghanistan. Before there was WWII Hitler had to convince the people around him with words. Same goes for the Revolutionary war. And every single war before and after....and in the future.
I respectfully submit that you are mistaken here, and I ask you -- and all conservatives who think as you do -- to have a re-think on this. If the Republicans have no more message than this, they will become the permanent minority party in the US, and the Democrats slide to the 'Left' -- will be unimpeded. Anyway, it's not the traditional Left any more, that was unions and social security and minimum wage and safe working conditions and no Poll Tax and no racial discrimination in hiring. The Democrats are going into another dimension where the boys use the girls bathroom and Jefferson Day Democratic Party dinners are cancelled because Jefferson owned slaves. A higher minimum wage may or may not be a good thing -- I think it would be a good thing -- but if it isn't, inflation will eventually take care of that. Nationalizing an industry may or may not be a good thing -- I think it's generally a bad thing -- but if you do it, you can undo it, as happened all over Europe in the 1980s and 90s. But once you pick apart the basic culture which underlies civilization, it's extremely hard -- imossible, for all practical purposes - to put it together again. The real war is the culture war, not the 'economic' war. When we say "individual freedom and [ no ] big government" 3/5 of the country hear "low taxes on the rich and my job going to China and I'll lose my medical coverage and my daughter will wait on tables for $8 an hour and my boy will sell auto parts at Home Base for not much more and they won't be able to buy a house". I can promise you that 90% of the people who vote Democratic feel exactly the way we do about boys in the girls bathroom and painting over George Washington's picture and making a hero out of a would-be cop-killer. Large numbers of these people would happily vote Republican, if they didn't think that the Republicans were in the pockets of the billionaires and had a "You're-on-your-own" attitude towards the bottom 3/5 of society, the people who struggle to pay their mortgage, assuming the still have a home, whose jobs are insecure, or are dead-end ones if they have them. Trump won over a lot of these people by hinting, in his casual impulsive way, that he was different from the usual Republican candidate, who typically sounds like a villain out of a Charles Dickens novel. And it still was not enough to win a majority of the popular vote -- he won because of a historic anomaly!! Don't kid yourself! If we cannot find a way to reach a substantial number of the Democratic voting base, we are doomed. They're not going to be won by making them read Milton Friedman, or pointing out the increasing insanity of Democratic obsessions. People vote their pocketbook first. If we can craft a social program that speaks to the insecurities of these people, AND add a foreign policy that promises no more entanglements with warring tribes abroad -- let the Democrats take on the role of warmongers! -- we have a chance to hold back the tide. I don't think it can be held back forever, they own the cultural apparatus and they will not stop feeding in the poison, starting with the universities, but we can buy some time on the road to Peaceful Separation. We must not be in the grip of political dogma. We have to think tactically.
Thank you for the kind compliment. We have so many smart, principled people on our side. Just look at the people who post here, and we're just the foot-soldiers. But our heavy hitters spend most of their time either pondering or arguing among themselves on the big principles, or just pointing at the most recent outbreak of political rabies among the Left and saying "Whoa, look at what they've done now!" or writing their usual business-as-usual, got-to-make-the-deadline columns ... all of which are good things, no question, but ... we need some people at the top to start thinking both tactically -- how to win battles now, as in the current one with AntiFa -- and long term. And as the culture rots around them, some of our people are going a bit nuts. I don't know if you follow the developments at First Things, but it's very worrying to see the retreat of some of our smartest people into irrelevance. It's like they've just resigned themselves to the fall of the Eternal City and are busy drawing up plans for monastic retreats.
No no no. How satisfying it is to watch those YouTube videos of these lice getting a clean right hook to the jaw and dropping unconscious to the ground, brain activitity at zero. (Well, it's always at zero in some sense, even when they're not sitting around their pads doping themselves up, but you know what I mean.) But ... we've got to think politically, tactically. We have to think this way: how will this be presented by the lying dishonest mass media? What will Mr and Mrs Average American see on their TV screens. You know what would have been a REAL victory? For all those scary-looking guys from Proud Boys to stay home, and to send their Republican grandmothers, plus a few old white-haired guys like me wearing their Unit baseball caps from Vietnam days ... all very peaceful, with lots of the American flags Anti-Fa hates .... and for us to be beaten to bloody pulps, with ambulances taking dozens of us off to the hospitals, and -- I hate to say this, but I was trained as a Leninist and you learn to think with your brain and not your guts -- a few hearses too. That would have been a real victory. And then the next time .... And Ideally with the Portland police told to stand aside. By the way, don't think those policemen are friends of AntiFa. Their pensions demand that they obey the Mayor and that joke of a PC-appointment Police Chief. But in their hearts it's a different story. Liberals don't become policemen, not even in Oregon. I don't know if they remember this, but it's the kind of thing we need to keep alive: fifty years ago, when the Left was on the rise, a Japanese-American policeman in Berkeley California made a traffic stop on a dark night and was shot through the eye and killed. His name was Ronald Tsukamoto. Click on his name to read about him. The guy who probably did it was arrested but hey, it was liberal California even then so they ended up letting him walk rather than wasting time bringing him to trial with a sympathetic cop-hating Of-the-Pig jury who would probably have acquitted him with a pat on the back.. Here's why I remember it (I was living there at the time): a few weeks after his death, there was a protest march in Portland. There was a lefty group there, calling themselves the 'Red Rockets', (after the BM21 which @APACHERAT could probably tell us about, although I think it was mainly used against civilians in cities ...) ... anyway, this group was in the march, and their chant was ... TSUKA- TSUKA - TSUKA-MOTO!!!! They were, probably literally, the ancestors of AntiFa today. There is no lmit to the depravity to which the Left (okay, okay, not all of them) can descend. You probably had higher moral standards in a Waffen-SS platoon. There are millions of gullible and/or cynical people who are eager to see AntiFa as heroes, standing up to the slavering fascist hordes who want to invade your cities and hold a rally in a park. Some of them post here. We must not let AntiFa get that role. They must be allowed to show what kind of people they are. Even if it means exercising fire discipline for a while.
Must be part of that if you aren't a Liberal in your 20's you have no heart, if you aren't a conservative in your 40's you have no brain.
Quotes Falsely Attributed to Winston Churchill https://winstonchurchill.org/resources/quotes/quotes-falsely-attributed/
so who is it supposed to be then. It is only because it was attributed to Churchill that people claimed it had substance. Most people have values. They rarely change when people get older unless of course they were not genuine when younger.
Maybe where you are from it matters who said it, if it rings true people will run with it. Perceptions change. For example, my stepdaughter was very Liberal as a teenager. She supported all those government programs that gave entitlements to people. Then she got her first real paycheck and was shocked at the taxes taken out. I told her how do you think the government pays for all those programs you support? Later, she watched as deadbeat relatives who tried their best not to find a regular job were able to get so much for free while she struggled to pay her bills and yet made too much for any sort of government help. She's now a certified conservative.
Funny, I went completely the opposite way myself.... As a young man, I thought conservative fiscal decisions were the only way to go. I hated Welfare (and still do) and things like that. Then I realized how much conservatives have nothing but hate in their hearts, so it was a natural switch to make. Neither side really knows how to govern properly, so in that vacuum, I'll take people who can appear human periodically, even if they overspend unwisely. Laughably, "conservatives" are now supporting the biggest free spending do*uchebag of all time. It's a complete lose-lose....
Final results from Portland have to be mostly positive.... https://www.yahoo.com/news/authorities-praised-handling-protests-portland-220327617.html
