    I don't understand how anyone could support this. The policy should be that they're held at the facility until an ICE agent arrives.

    Libs support it because they were told by their masters to support it. 20 years ago libs didn’t support because they were told by their masters not to support it. It’s easy, or so it seems, to reformat and then reprogram liberals.

    He posted bail, so the county called ICE to say that he was about to be released. Apparently ICE was too busy to pick him up.

    We don't know his immigration status. They don't have to be illegal for ICE to issue a detainer.

    “Officials with the Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation made an attempt to notify one off-duty officer, who was in a travel status outside of the area, prior to the release of Rodrigo A. Castro Montejo,” ICE said in a second statement.

    Looks like ICE was too busy to do their job.

    So ICE agents who are responsible for detaining immigrants don't answer the phone when they are off duty? Maybe they should leave a general dispatch number next time instead of some random agent who is going to be unavailable the day after he files a detainer. .

    We know he was "undocumented", and that ICE had issued a detainer.

    Seems a pretty bad policy to create a situation where such a person has the possibility of disappearing.

    He was assigned and made bail by a judge. They had no right to hold him at that point. Sorry that constitutional due process chaps your ass.

    I guess the opportunity to pass a federal law requiring states, counties and municipalities to hold undocumented aliens for ICE to pick up was yet another thing *cough* WALL! *cough* Moscow Mitch, Eddie Munster and Benedict Donald pissed away in favor of tax cuts for businesses and billionaires, obstructing justice and meaningless Obamacare votes when they had the unfettered power to do something useful.

    ICE had 6 hours to pick him up. And get this: Rockville, MD is right outside of the beltway of Washington DC. ICE has a detention facility in Maryland 32 minutes from Montgomery County's detention center.
