    Not too many years ago the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper ran a huge article dealing with the gang bangers in Philly and how they were buying guns in Florida with licenses over the internet.This was at the same time the Florida pill mills were dispensing drugs to most of the East coast addicts.

    "The difference" is that the 5 individuals may have been isolated inter-criminal acts of violence whereas five being shot at once almost certainly includes innocent people and have perhaps nothing to do with any "perceived justification" on the part of the shooter.

    Gang violence isn’t as easy to solve as mass shootings. It is intellectually lazy to pair the two together.

    That's true. Obviously a lot of these guns were bought by "legal gun owners" in whatever state and sold (illegally) to felons. I had to take the "registered" out of your description since actual registered guns and gun owners don't contribute much to the black market of guns.

    I this case it took at least 4 individual bad guys to commit 5 murders, whereas in mass shootings one guy can go off and kill 20+ in one event.

    Obviously, as I said, one is better than five.

    Already explained it in detail in many threads: ban assault weapon transfers, ban high capacity magazines, mandatory background checks for all gun transfers, etc.....
