The tragic thing is that he is right once again.The liberal propaganda machine is working 24/7 trying to persuade Americans that doom and gloom is unavoidable.Total negativity detached from the reality.

 

Trump is right. The media caused the depression in the 1920's and 2008.

The economy waa doing fine until they reported doom and gloom. Then people started panicking and selling their stocks. Then doom and gloom became real.

1920 Depression would not have happened if the newspaper didn't report on banks running out of money.

2008 wouldn't have hapoened if media kept quiet about Lehman Bros and Bear Stearns.

 

Ignoring all the fluff, I will say this. My personal experience tells me that the economy reacts to emotion. If people believe a recession is coming, they will cut back in preparation. That cut back can and sometimes does cause the recession. So promoting a recession sometimes does become a self fulfilling prophecy. I, too, would blame the media since the financial elements leading to a recession aren't there. There is nothing positive about rooting against the country. Try to keep your politics to government actions.

 

It's called a business cycle on average every ten years there is a recession...

 

It is a propaganda machine but it doesn't belong to the liberals anymore than it belongs to conservatives they are privately held companies and corporations and are not organized and operated on political philosophies...Each human is not a carbon copy of another human they all have their intricate differences and trying to pigeonhole the masses is just plain ignorant.

 

It isn't propaganda when the recession prediction comes from 74% of economists. Trump needs to dismiss their prediction because he knows that an economic downturn would be the death knell of his presidency.

He wants to take credit when the economy is growing, but the truth is that presidents have little to do with the cyclical nature of global economics. A recession would no more be his fault than the steady growth over the last ten years is due to his "leadership." We're simply due for another market correction.

The media, the Fed, Democrats.... Who else can he blame that the promised 4%+ GDP growth never happened? Or that nobody got the $4,000 pay increase from the tax cuts? It's never his responsibility, always someone else.

Would you rather have the media NOT report that the yield curve is inverted? Should the media lie about yield curve inversion coming before EACH of the recent recession? Did the yield curve invert because of the media? Are 401k bond investors that sophisticated that they pick long term bonds because they see the economy weakening in the short term? Interesting questions to ponder.

 

Are you serious? Do you think the press should have ignored the crash of 1929? (Not 1920 as you stated ... if you don't even know that much ...)

The press doesn't cause economic events, they merely report them. Gagging the media over anything is something a totalitarian dictatorship would do. We don't want that here.

The premise is ridiculous. The 2008 crisis was caused by an unsustainable private debt bubble, not by the media reporting about it.

Not reporting it would be negligence, IMHO.

 

Sorry, but Trump has spread so much manure on those rose bushes that the rosey smell has been overcome by the not-so-pleasant smell of horse pucky.

Dems are so quick to forget the Obama recession.

 

The figure I've seen is that 34% of economists predict a recession. Pick your survey. The truth is economists in general have no idea why they call a guess a prediction. Of all the social sciences, I think economics is the least scientific.

 

Maybe they forget it because it wasn't the "Obama recession"? Or because Obama wasn't even in office when it started? Now, the GWB great recession, we'll certainly never forget.

 

He's correct. The media is trying to crash the economy. There is no recession or potential recession, just a media acting in violation of securities laws. The evidence of a conspiracy to crash the stock market can be found in the montage of various reporters using the same exact terminology to talk down the economy.
