Trump could be indicted in 2021 - unless he's reelected

This Politico article is from last December.

    https://www.politico.com/story/2018/12/11/trump-2020-criminal-prosecution-1055291

[snip'] "If President Donald Trump is reelected in 2020, he will win more than four more years in the White House. He might also delay or even dodge any criminal prosecution."

That could mean the presidency itself may amount to Trump’s best legal defense.

While some legal scholars and defense attorneys with clients mired in the Russia probe argue that a sitting president can be indicted, prominent figures on the left and right are increasingly focusing on Trump’s post-presidential jeopardy.

Ken Starr, the independent counsel who investigated the Clinton presidency, said in a recent interview with Vice News that special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe would either end with an impeachment referral to Congress or an indictment once Trump is no longer president. “Those are the two avenues that I see,” he said [/snip]

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trump has been demonstrating more instability in the past week, particularly since warnings by economists of a likelihood of recession within the next 8 -14 months. This whole thing about buying Greenland and the joke about how he's 'the Chosen One' to take on China and the comment about Jews that are Democrats are "disloyal to the U.S." are just two outrageous things he's done or said in the past few days.

According to an article in the NYT; "former Trump administration officials in recent days said they were increasingly worried about the president’s behavior, suggesting it stems from rising pressure on Mr. Trump as the economy seems more worrisome and next year’s election approaches."
    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/21/us/politics/trump-greenland-prime-minister.html

Here's how I see all of this. Trump has only two options, two plans that will work for him in order to escape indictment at the end of his term.

    1. Get re-elected in order to keep his presidential 'get out of jail free' card.

    2. Misbehave so badly as to force his removal from office, acquiring Pence pardons in the process.

Whichever it is, Trump doesn't want to be labeled a loser in an election. This daily reality show performance by Trump is motivated by poll numbers weighting the probabilities of option 1 or option 2.

Socialists everywhere, are dying to turn the US into a 3rd world state. Soros and the transnationalists cannot make a go of competent governance themselves, so they are obsessed with taking down every example of competence in running a country in existence.

After 3 years of 99% negative coverage by the Socialist media, constant investigations, incessant race baiting, one failure after another, Socialists have not been able to prevent Trump from making life better for all Americans. In 2020, Socialists will have tro face the people they've ignored and tell them what they did to make life better for them. All they will have to offer is a resounding DUH!!

Well Ken Starr was right...but since we don’t have a impeachment, or a referral for an indictment sounds like mueller cleared him

Indicted by whom and for what? The DOJ has closed it's investigation and no criminal referral or indictments awaiting.

Evidently, you missed the point of my thread. Here, I'll make is simpler by putting it in an easier to understand way. It's quite simple really. Trump will be indicted on multiple charges if he's no longer president. There are many possible indictments such as obstruction of justice, witness tampering, subborning lying to Congress, violations of both FEC regulations and the emolument clause. Trump is dumb but not totally stupid, he is well aware of this. This is causing his increasing instability. He either has to; 1. be reelected or, 2. be indicted when he's no longer a sitting president and hope to receive a pardon from Mike Pence.

I don't know one person whose life is better since Trump took office. As a matter of fact, there are farmers that are losing farms that have been in their families for generations. Thousands of immigrants are locked up in private detention centers that get paid $750 per head/per day. Our U.S. infrastructure is an absolute national embarrassment as it remains in massive disrepair with no signs of addressing this urgent issue. Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid are being threatened constantly from republicans who want to take these away from Americans, Trump wants to remove the protections for people with preexisting conditions which would result in hundreds of thousands of deaths of American citizens. There's no resolution of the conflicts with N. Korea, Iran or China. GM in Detroit closed a plant employing 200 workers that for 78 years has been producing automobiles. Manufacturing plants like Harvey Hubbell in Connecticut and 145 workers in Michigan in a plant that closed production in the US to relocate to Brazil.

Just yesterday, Del Monte announced it's closing two 89 year old plants, one in Minnesota and one in Illinois. During peak season, the plant in Illinois employs 550 workers while the plant in Minnesota employs up to 400 workers. They're all going to be out of work. Del Monte will also be selling off its Cambria, Wis., facility as well as the manufacturing assets from its Crystal City, Texas, facility. The company previously closed plants in North Carolina, Indiana and California.

On Tuesday, US Steel announced it's going to be laying off 200 workers.

So tell me, do you really believe that the U.S. is better since Trump came to power? Are Americans really better off?

Indicted by the NY AG for tax fraud. Indicted by the SDNY for campaign finance violations. If jurisdiction can be established since the DOJ obviously isn't going to indict Don while Billy the Bagman is in charge........indicted for obstruction of justice in the Mueller investigation.

Your denial of the multiple criminal offenses committed by Crooked Donald, for which there is ample evidence in the public sphere, is noted.

What tax fraud has he been charged with? When has the IRS ever even alleged any tax fraud?

What campaign finance violations have been referred? Since when are minor campaign finance violations impeachable offenses anyway was Obama impeached?

What obstruction in the Mueller case, Mueller made no criminal referral and the Attorney General, the Deputy Attorney General and the Office of Legal Counsel all said they same, they could not determine a crime had been committed. Are they all lying?

Democrats are on record that those are not impeachable offenses. You could throw in perjury for that matter.

Really??? When did that happen? Obstruction of justice not an impeachable offense? I don't think Nixon would have agreed.
