Why Is Trump Attacking American Jews?

Trump used a tired, old antisemitic trope when accusing Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats as showing “either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty”.

Trump evoked Jewish Americans’ supposed loyalties to Israel and how voting Democratic was disloyal to the country.

“I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows

The putrid old accusation, insinuating that patriotic Jewish Americans have allegiance to Likud, is disgusting.

Hailed by them as their "God Emperor!," even his neo-nazi followers are amused, and appear confused by his crackpot messianic narcissism:

Don't project the Democrat antisemitism onto Trump. He has done more to support Israel than any other president. Perhaps the Democrats should huddle together and figure out why their party is so antisemitic and allow 2 freshmen Congresswomen to dictate to them how they should feel about Jews. After all, if you want Jews to continue to vote Democrat, you can't push them away with your policies. So, don't be disingenuous by saying that Trump is attacking Jews when it is really the Democrats who are. If I were Jewish, I would have to re-evaluate my "loyalty" to the Democrats who obviously don't appreciate me as fellow Democrat. Democrats have A LOT of problems...

In all the Middle East there is exactly one (ONE) democratic republic -- ISRAEL. Over the course of more than 70 years, there has been one (ONE) Middle Eastern country that America could count on as an ally -- ISRAEL. And in the history of the modern Jewish State, there has never been a dictator, a military 'junta', or a Communist government which was inimical to the United States and our allies!

And yet, for decades, liberal American Jews have been at the heart of an increasingly radical Democrat Party in the U. S., hating and undermining Israel and everything that Israel has ever stood for. Will these American Jews be happy when Iran does finally manage to build and explode a thermonuclear hydrogen bomb inside Israel and kill the whole country...?! This post reflects the misguided view Jewish Americans only concern is US policy towards Israel. It isn't. As Americans they are focused on education, the economy, the environment.........just like most people.

Moreover, in classic self-serving fashion, Don has thrown decades of US policy designed to remain to be seen as an honest broker for peace in the ME under the bus in order to court Jewish voters. Does he care those decisions have heightened tensions there? No.

If you think they can't both be anti-Semitic, you need to think some more. Trump is preaching dual loyalty. Omar was called anti-Semitic and racist for suggesting the same, the only difference being she didn't actually do that and Trump has.

 

Omar said lawmakers listening to lobbyists had dual loyalty. People lied and said she was talking about Jews having dual loyalty and called that anti-Semitic. Now Trump is actually doing the thing Omar was accused of. That's the difference.

 

Jews in America are no different than Presbyterians or Catholics. They’re just Americans like everyone else. It’s not possible to target specific legislation to benefit American Jews.

But you’d think American Jews would have some passing interest in the survival of the only primarily Jewish state on the planet.
