I think that is a pretty broad statement. I have had just as piss-poor service from white lazy Government employees as much as I have had from minority lazy Government employees.
After watching the video, I agree that the customer was either mentally impaired or on some drug (alcohol, medication, etc). I am sure he will be "visited' and could be arrested for hindering a Federal agent in the performance of their duty. However, I doubt if he will do any jail time. Maybe a fine, but more likely just a stern talking to.
Why did we have to know this? Lack of personal control isn't exactly a rare event. Oh, I get it. We need to point out every instance of racism we know about. As I non-racist, I forgot that.
You can protest all you want outside. You can’t walk into the DMV or county tax office and disrupt operations. I find it pretty telling that he only yelled at women half his size in a known gun free zone. The only other male I noticed in the video was the 18 year old holding the camera.
A guy goes postal without the gun and we should ignore it? He needs to be investigated and if he committed a crime, punished or treated for his condition. He could do it with a gun next time and many would blame my gun instead of addressing his real issues. Are you calling me a racist? I don’t care about his racism. I care that he was abusive and profane in public and he was doing it in a manner that intimidated everyone in his presence as he was twice their size. His behavior demands attention.
The man's actions were not ignored. Police were called and will likely investigate. I think what fmw was saying is why is this news-worthy. It appears it is only news-worthy because the man was white and the post office worker was black (not saying that is why YOU posted this thread). If every loud incident from a disgruntled customer at a DMV was posted in the news, the papers would be a foot thick.
I only mentioned it to illustrate how abusive he was, and I am not a leftist. I am solidly on the right. I would be demanding the same response if he were black, except then a leftist would imply that I was racist.
Like what? Prison? Seems to me police telling him to move on would have sufficed. A slap on the wrist at worst. I'm all for police investigating further into his mental state, but criminal charges for this itself seems too far to me. I've yelled at customer service persons at times, when they've done something truly atrocious. A waiter got me diet coke instead of coke and made it clear this was for my health, I gave him a good yelling at let me tell you Another time I caught a cab driver increasing my fare with a fraudulent meter. Grabbed my cash, told him to **** off, and screamed at him to never do it again. I would never, ever threaten anyone though. Sometimes people need to be yelled at until they cry for their own good. Okay, maybe not until they cry, but you get the point.
His conduct was inappropriate But I dont think he committed a crime and certainly should not have his guns taken away based on a rant
The only purpose for the U.S. Postal Service today is to keep incompetent and lazy people off of welfare. These postal workers are unionized and they can't be fired. The facts are black female postal workers are lazy and rude. Another thing I have noticed, there are sure a lot of foreigners working for the USPS today. Back when America was great, you had to be an U.S. citizen to work for the USPS.
If I had been in his place and really believed I was getting bad service I would have called the supervisor to the front and filed a formal complaint Postal weenies hate that
No, no, no, no, no. racial slurs are only protected speech when they are hurled at a white male, where have you been the last 10 years> You must learn the new ways grasshopper.
That’s why I said “punished or treated for his condition “. He could be a stroke victim or have substance abuse issues. He could be retarded, or whatever pc word they have for it now. I agree with the USPS stereotypes and think they should be privatized, but that’s another thread.
“punished or treated for his condition “. Does not sound like anywhere I want to go Based on one incident he is a grumpy old man who verbally abuses people who displease him He didnt make any threats against anyone as far as we know So he’s a jerk but that doesent make him a threat to society
You got to cut black women some slack. The leftist politicians continually try to keep them all riled up.
Not excusing him but once again we don't see what led up to it, the outburst. What was the problem, how long had he been standing there in line, what had the people behind him said to him before the filming started.
That's one thing that I didn't think of. If the lady behind the counter had said "Just back your cracker ass up and address me properly before I serve you" I could understand his rant a little better, but I haven't heard of any evidence of this from the witnesses
Haven't heard much of anything about what transpired before the video starts and I was thinking more of the lady behind him who injected herself into the matter. As far as the clerk how long had she kept him waiting, what was the problem and was she doing everything she could to resolve it or as can be found with the government workers had that "I don't care you have other things to do instead of standing at the counter while I take my time doing my job". Clearly the guy let his emotions get the best of him and no one needs to engage is such outburst, just curious as to what exactly did happen before that, even the guy who filmed saying "I knew something was about to happen"..........why exactly?
This is terrible and all, but I don't see how its as Politically Important? One jerk using bad words does not a politically relevant story make.
They are given multiple duties so when things get slow at the counter they have to work on something in back. It is not like the old days when they were overstuffed.
