dear, people pay detrimentally higher prices because of tax cost built into the price they pay and they pay detrimentally higher prices because of the rent industry pays!

Here's the quote!! Paine and the other Founders were obviously against libNazi monarchical government above all and would not want the govt killing millions to steal their land only to then rent it back to them at higher prices. See why we say liberalism is based in pure 100% ignorance?

"We still find the greedy hand of government thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry, and grasping at the spoil of the multitude. Invention is continually exercised to furnish new pretenses for revenue and taxation. It watches prosperity as its prey and permits none to escape without a tribute."

    -- Thomas Paine

Jesus told the chief priests, “I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.”

totally slow and liberal. Their source of revenue was the states' treasuries, plus they could borrow, and sell western lands. See why we say liberalism is based i pure ignorance?

    1) Then you needed land to grow food and survive. See why we say pure ignorance?
    2) Astronomical? If so nobody would buy it. $10,000 an acre in Utah can be seen as astronomical or not depending how good you are at predicting the future. Do you understand?

all agree obviously, but if you can pay for them you are probably not a slave as you mistakenly thought. 1+1=2 Tell us, are all renters slaves who just don't know it because they have not spoken to you yet?? Soon you will be leading a slave revolt if only you can convince renters that they are slaves!! This liberal schemer aims to be the next MLK/AOC.

    1) under libcommunism it is really the community that is charging for the cars the community produces.

    2) if the capitalist owner did not charge for his land somebody would have to to avoid civil war. Govt is worst choice since they are an abusive monopoly responsible for all the evils in human history which include recently killing 200 million innocent souls.

All of this word salad does not change the fact that georgism has been shown to be a completely failed ideology, as it is entirely unworkable. No civilization in the entirety of human history has ever done it, including Hong Kong. The very concept of georgism is in direct opposition to human nature.

The "greedy land grabbers" won't have that right, because rule of law - to "promote the common welfare" - will preclude the greedy land-grabbers.
Which gets us back to the problem of 'capitalism': it's good for efficiently allocating non-land resources for production of consumer goods, but that's about all it's good for.

That's why Bernie Sanders can proudly announce to the electors he is a "social democrat". It's just that he must overcome instinctive greed (in all of us) and show that in fact everyone can be guaranteed above poverty participation in the community - this is the difficult bit for a social democrat.

BTW, democratic socialism not 'communism'; a social democrat allows for "greed" to be satisfied, provided that greed has community benefits as well.

Eg the degree of Bezos' personal wealth accumulation.......would not be tolerated in communism, but a social democrat can tolerate it, provided it co-exists with universal above poverty participation in the community.

Dear, average poor family in America has $70,000/yr in income while billions live at $1-2 a day in other countries. Would the insane liberal say $70,000 is above poverty compared to $1-2/day. See why we say liberalism is based in pure shameless ignorance?? What other conclusion is possible?

dear, greed is a bad thing; capitalism prevents it through competition. Capitalism is a race to please and love your workers and customers to avoid bankruptcy. See why it makes us rich and why socialism just starved 120 million to death?

Dear, Bezos could not be worth so much unless he was making us all rich with his low prices huge selection and quick delivery. THis is the nature of capitalism. It is a race to love and please, socialism is exact opposite. Nobody has to do a thing there. Is this still over your head?? Eve heard of Cuba/Florida?

I covered this is my reply to JamesM (whose debating skills have deserted him).

"People strive to improve themselves" is only the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to individual motivation.
You ignore the unconscious, predatory, instinctive instincts at play - witness the battles, both legal (in a court of law) AND actual physical murder - over competition to win market share, patents, copyright, intellectual property rights, etc, etc, for a more complete picture on " people striving to improve themselves"......

Yes, and I hope by now you understand the need for rule of law, to manage that competitiveness, the unconscious and instinctive aspects of which can lead to catastrophe - literally - on a global scale aka 'MAD').

It's been possessed, not owned, by groups or individuals. There is a difference, eg while hunter gatherer tribes possessed certain territories, individuals within the tribe did not own land in that territory, and indeed the territory was possessed only as long as the tribe was sufficiently strong enough to resist incursions by other tribes. (It helps if you are the 'chosen' people, and 'God" authorises genocide, to possess the land already occupied by other tribes...).

But note the controversy over claiming land (territory) as personal property.

Nevertheless, everyone has a Right to Life, Liberty and Security, and above-poverty level participation in the economy: Article 25 the UNUDHR.

Therefore, any system of land ownership must be compatible with these fundamental Rights, eg by provision of sufficient public housing, or a system of land leasing v. ownership.

Simplistic conflation of Rights and couches, on one hand - which are human inventions, and land which a designated piece of planet earth. See how ideology blinds comprehension of the most basic truths.

I think that the controversy is over claiming land as state property.

'Crank' postulated a community composed of "greedy land grabbers, paupers and everyone in between". Therefore he means by that term: some individuals in the community who are greedy.
