In the northeast, leftists famously demanded mandatory registration under threat of felony and were met with a 10% compliance rate. I would imagine a mandatory confiscation scheme would be met with a similar or smaller result.
I see now reason gun owners shouldn’t be registered. But I don’t think people aren’t going to take to kindly to having them confiscated illegally either.

The fact that Beto is willing to say that he'll force law abiding gun owners to turn over their ARs and AKs is proof that he doesn't believe law abiding gun owners are dangerous. Not only will no one in my neck of the woods willingly surrender their firearms, the police, sheriffs, reservists, and national guardsmen from around here will assist, side by side with the citizenry, in making sure any attempts are nipped in the bud. Not ever gonna happen here. Bank on it. And on an interesting side note, I can't recall any "mass shootings" occurring around here or in a fifty mile radius from here since the Civil War. Believe me gun grabbers, disarming law abiding citizens will make a far more prickly, less convincing moral ground for violent central government aggression than slavery did. Bring it.
I'm assuming you meant "I see no reason gun owner's shouldn't be registered". However, this is an excellent example as to why guns should not be registered. Creating a Government list of who to go after when the guns are confiscated is the exact reason why there is a 2nd Amendment to begin with.

I went to a republican Meet The Candidates dinner a few weeks ago and I learned that about 95% of New Mexico's counties are gun sanctuary counties. I have no idea what polling data O'Rourke is getting, but it's not accurate.
