Two Muslim men say American Airlines canceled their flight to DFW

Something like this hasn't happened in while. Who's right and wrong here? Were they racially profiled?

Those people at the airport are no different than the issue with the police having to leave Starbucks because a customer felt unsafe. Time for all to grow up.

 

Ok, so what's the profile for a Muslim? What does this guy think the Muslim profile is? Apparently he doesn't think it's very flattering.

 

If eating rice was illegal, I hope they would profile Asians. If you don't want to be profile as a terrorist, then stop your people from doing terrorist acts.

 

I am sure TSA and FBI etc profile white supremacists and black nationalists etc along with Muslims.

 

So why aren't we profiling white males, since they commit the majority of mass shootings? Why don't you "stop your people" from doing that?

99.999% of Muslims are non-violent, just like everybody else. Profiling them doesn't make sense. Especially because, what does a Muslim look like? They can be male, female, young, old, of any race. You end up profiling stereotypes, which is stupid and easily defeated.

We seek not to profile, and we haven't had a repeat of 9/11. Apparently you don't have to be stupidly racist to avoid terrorism.

Political terrorism, however, is a separate category from general mass shootings.

 

99.999% of moslems are non-violent? Maybe dead ones. Why are they constantly killing each other when they're not killing everyone else? Every moslem country has internal violence and every moslem neighborhood in other countries is teeming with violence.

 

Americans are busily killing each other as well. Should they all be profiled. All countries have internal violence, and America is among the leaders in the world.

 

Fine, "mass killing". Point is, there are plenty of reasons to profile white men if you're concerned about mass deaths. But we don't.

Profiling based on stereotypes is counterproductive, stupid and damaging to a free society.

It isn't based on stereotypes, it's based on what belief system commits the most terror acts, I believe over 25,000 of them since 9/11. If you want to keep believing your multi-cultural myth that all religions and cultures are the same, knock yourself out.

In this country, far more people are killed in mass shootings by white guys than are killed by terrorism. Yet we profile the lesser problem. Weird.

When the profiling doesn't make any sense on practical grounds, is based on racial stereotypes, and we AREN'T profiling a group that poses a bigger threat, how would you explain it?

 

Sure it is. There's no way to "spot" a Muslim unless they are doing something stereotypical, like wearing a hijab, or that old goody "having a long beard while Arab-looking". So when you profile, you're doing it based on stereotypes.

Muslims are only 1.2% of the population, a bit less than white guys, yet commit a huge percent of terror acts. Do the math. Lots of Muslims are white.

It does make sense on practical grounds, that's why Israel does it. Again, what race is Islam?
