I'm assuming the basic story that the Wall Street Journal laid out is correct: Trump pressured Ukraine to start an investigation on Biden, and military aid to Ukraine was delayed after the call.

Here's Fox's Judge Napolitano's take, which is well worth reading:

“I think this is the most serious charge against the president, far more serious than what Bob Mueller dug or dragged up against him. If there was a quid pro quo. It does appear as though a quarter of a billion dollars in defensive weaponry was held back for a period of time while these eight conversations were going on between the president.

“If you are the President of the United States and making a conversation that you know your intelligence community is listening to, of course you’re not going to articulate a quid pro quo. You’ll just make the quid pro quo happen.”

“This is probably the end of Joe Biden’s presidency and it ought to be the end of his dream for the presidency, but doesn’t diminish one iota what the current president is doing which if an act of — if true, we haven’t seen the whistleblower complaint, and, under the law it has to be revealed — if true, this is an act of corruption.

    https://www.mediaite.com/trump/foxs...raine-call-most-serious-charge-against-trump/

Napolitano is right: Because of the power disparity between us and Ukraine and the fact they're in a military conflict with Russia, and the fact we're currently giving them military aid which they desperately need, there doesn't have to be an explicit quid-pro-quo. Every conversation Trump/Obama has had with the Ukranian President carries an implied threat: Nice military aid we're giving you. Be a shame if something happened to it...

If this is where someone like Judge Napolitano is at, the pressure to be impeach will be unbearable for Pelosi. If she doesn't, I predict they'll oust her.

Again, this is assuming the WSJ's basic account of the story is accurate. It's all but been confirmed by Guiliani and Trump.

Oh, and the Dem candidates will one-up each other with calls for impeachment, so there will be tremendous pressure from that end of things as well.

Timing is everything. Let 'em drool all over themselves THEN pull the carpet out from underneath 'em.

"Sharpiegate exemplified how Trump obsessed about a small thing so much that it became a more scandalous thing."

That's interesting. I'm reading John Keegan's World War 2 history and he talks about how Stalin and Hitler, when things were at their worst, would busy themselves with meaningless trivialities, like whether bayonets should have three blades. It's fascinating psychology: the big issues are so painful to even think about, I'll distract myself with these petty things. Stalin eventually pulled out of that and Hitler just got worse, until he was so far removed from reality, he was changing weather forecasts with a Sharpie--sorry- I mean, moving phantom armies around.

Are they on to Joe? I didn't know. I am starting to think the whistleblower is Trump or one of his players. The left has been after him for more than 2 years; could he be punching back?

I've been to Ukraine probably more times that Hunter Biden yet no one was throwing millions at me!

If you're pretending to be a Trump supporter, this is too nutty. Even they're not that bad.

Or it could be an effort to take Biden out of the race. This was brought up before but it was too early in the race. Now they have found a way to keep it in the news.

Actually I hope not. It will be quite the spectacle seeing him try to keep up with Trump on the campaign trail. Biden might fall over dead before next November.

Don't worry, Hillary is on standby :roflol::roflol::roflol:

I'd imagine Biden will be a little pissed if he actually doesn't get away with his crimes like Hillary did.

As I predicted from the start, they will time impeachment such that the Senate doesn't have time to overwhemingly acquit before the election.

    Mark my words.
