I'm not a fan of Warren at all, but the silver lining in her potential presidency is that she appears willing to go after big tech companies, and there probably wouldn't be much opposition, aside from the companies themselves.

I doubt she's getting much support on this issue alone, and I'm not suggesting anyone should support her (or any president) on a single issue, just interesting to see a progressive going after a tech company. I respect it.

If she focuses on this issue and going after the big banks, then I think she’ll have a great chance to win.
Less so if she focuses on canceling our insurance and giving everyone Medicare.

You don't think it's off putting for progressives that she's critical of companies like facebook?

Kamala Harris just said the President should be kicked off twitter because he says 'false and irresponsible things' or some such. Your typical leftist would agree, not big on free speech. They want to shut you up and shut you down if you aren't on board with the progressive agenda.

    Why would you think that?

Especially today, when one of Trump's newly constituted courts defended Agit Pai's attack on net neutrality.

No....because progressives operate on principle...I know that is a foreign concept for you if you consider yourself a "moderate" -- which is code word for status quo

Not at all as long as she is looking at this from an anti-competitive monopoly angle, rather than looking at what sort of speech is or is not 'preferred' or what policies it chooses to put in place. Those internal decisions are best left to the company, but size of this behemoth and the near monopolistic nature of Facebook and any anti-competitive contracts it may have are all up for review by the justice dept.

Twitter is private owned.....what free speech are you talking about??

Gosh, that whole we should respect intellecctual property and not just allow freeloaders to steal it.. Sometimes I just can't understand progressives these days... What with all their willingness to so obviously break the laws to support their "free everything" version of the world...

Or maybe she is serious about going after big corporations instead of being beholden to them like Trump is....

LOL> Now that's a stretch.. Trump is beholden to Facebook who almost singlehandedly produced most of the negative add space against him in 2016?? Laughable.

I definitely remember saying corporations, which Trump is definitely beholden to -- as are most republicans....

Which is why you are on here whining about Warren........

If Trump had said the same thing, you would be cheerleading him like the sycophant you are

What are you talking about? She's a corporatist who has already said she will take wall street/corporate donations in the general.

Here's a lefty to break it down for you...

Funny how she is both a corporatist and also a radical socialist capitalistism hating leftist....just **** with the labels because they are often trumped by POLICIES

Who created the Consumer Financial Protections Bureau?? Did she do it out of her love for corporations???

Who has big banks freaking out whenever they have to go testify at a Senate hearing??

"Warren has spoken often about dismantling mega banks like JP Morgan and re-instituting the Depression-era Glass-Steagall law that separated their commercial lending and deposit operations from their Wall Street activities. She believes that combination proved deadly in the run-up to the financial crisis, because their risk-taking infected the consumer side, ultimately forcing a government bailout." <<--- I know how that talk freaks out you Republicans

Simply put, big tech companies appear to support progressivism.

If you criticize big tech companies from a conservative perspective, you can expect to be dogpiled and ridiculed.

Social media influences society. You can choose to go along, or log off, as I have. That's pretty much all a person can do, but it's difficult to do. Your life is now interwoven with your social media. That's a new thing, which isn't neccessary a good thing.

We're basically at mercy of what an audience of people who we may not know thinks of us, based upon the content of social media accounts. That's insane. It leads people to comply with the norms of those who control social media, or face consequences, or simply alienate yourself.

China has already shown us the future. That's where we're going if big tech isn't reigned in.

Warren would roll over for Facebook....once they got in line with spreading HER message, that's all she cares about.

Beat me to it. She doesn’t want Facebook or big banks to go away. She just wants them to do her bidding.

Yes. Yes she did. Funny how that limitation of class actions was addressed...
