Please do yourself a 'favor' & try to cook only w/ "LIGHT" Virgin Olive oil... - specific heat / mono ~ trans fats --> then into the Carcinogen 'bull pen'... Yehh, no-wonder why no Texan Man has come close to 'taming me'... Rotfl. ~ S

    [paste:font size="5"]
coconut oil are very resistant to heat, most vegetable oils contain polyunsaturated fats. Olive oil, on the other hand, contains mostly monounsaturated fats (5).

Only polyunsaturated fatty acids — like those in soybean and canola oils — are sensitive to high heat (6).

Keep in mind that oils are usually composed of different types of fatty acids. For example, olive oil is 73% monounsaturated, 11% polyunsaturated and 14% saturated (7).

In other words, the heat-resistant monounsaturated and saturated fats make up 87% of olive oil.

Summary Olive oil contains mostly monounsaturated fatty acids, which are largely resistant to heat.

Perhaps I was in a 'carcinogenic haze' - my true intent was to indicate the value of cooking 'red meat' w/ COCUNUT oil # 1 & Secondarily w/ #2 option - 'light' Olive Oil. - Regular Olive oil ('cold pressed' or not) turns into a trans fat at cooking temps... - don't use frequently if ya' value your heart health longevity... w/ luv (for my future clientele) lol, S... :)

About once a year I go to a nice restaurant specifically for steak tartare.
Raw beef from good cuts and from quality source is not cheap but is the best.

A real steak or burger should be cooked in a charcoal grill, which involves no oils at all. I live in Chicago area and I am willing to grill even in January when I want a quality piece of meat.

So, if one is stuck in a cockpit for hours, shoving things in one hole that may have to come out another hole probably isn’t wise. Probably depends on the person though. :)

There is now evidence that animal protein and fat are beneficial for diabetes and diabetics should not eat low fat foods such as low fat yogurt or 2% milk and include butter instead of margarine.

Unfortunately, beef feeds fewer people and has other agricultural ramifications.

Have you ever pondered an agricultural system where grain and oilseed crop fields were turned back to native range and forest species? Beef, pork, and chicken could be grown rotationally instead of twinkies, chips, and big gulps. No soil erosion, no fertilizer in groundwater or the oceans, and far less pesticides in the food supply. People could eat less calories but much more nutrient dense foods.

    Something to think about.

Yet they're still confident about climate cooling, climate warming and climate change. That's something we can all agree upon.

Nor was it won on junk food like Hamburger Helper. Look, I love red meat, but there is no denying that over-consumption of red meat is highly correlated with things like colon cancer and heart disease. Pretty sure most Americans eat far more red meat than our Founding Fathers did.

I actually dont eat that much. First steak in a couple months. We eat about 4 pounds of ground beef a month (at most) between the two of us. I live in cattle country and support the beef industry, even if I dont eat much of it.

I probably eat more of it than you do. Just saying that, objectively speaking, probably best to cut back as much as possible. That's more a reminder for me than it is for you.

what you say is true, also when you eat a keto diet you need less of many vitamins then on a high carb diet, like vitamin C, if you are eating high carbs you need a lot more vitamin c, this is why carnivores do not get scurvy

this is true as well, if your ancestors grew up where there was fruit all year long, they may have evolved to better handle more carbs than others that only had limited seasonal access

Fasting is very good for you, due to autophagy and stem cell production, at least 16 hours, but more is better a few times a year

fasting is the ultimate detox as the body breaks down misfolded proteins, defective cells, viruses, ect...

I’ll have to read up on it. Interesting how ancient cultures advocated for fasting and now science confirms it isn’t just BS.

yep, or avocado oil, lard or tallow for steaks ... but for hamburger, I just pick the fattier versions as no oil needed
