Just more proof that Trump and his Trumpanzees don’t care about fiscal responsibility as much as they care about enriching themselves. They are doing what’s good for themselves in the short run and destructive for the country in the long. What was that promise about eliminating the deficit? Maybe those are just more big words that this moron-in-chief doesn’t understand - or he knew he was lying to you all along.

This will suddenly become an issue in one to five years.
Republicans have sold every bit of party platform in their support of trump besides win, and they added trolling.

Many of them really don’t stand for anything anymore.

Well, we could reform welfare, but we know how well that would go over with Democrats.....

Well, Republicans could have done that when they controlled both houses of Congress and the White House, but they were too busy engaging in Twitter wars and fighting to defend this joke of a president they’ve all sold their souls to.

Fiscal conservatism is a canard. It’s no coincidence that the party in the minority castigates the majority for profligate spending until they get into power themselves.

Okay, let's see the Democrat's plan is to reduce the deficit.

    Republicans borrow and spend.
    Democrats tax and spend.

    Reagan increased the debt 170%
    Bush increased the debt 101%

    Clinton increased the debt 39%
    Obama increased the debt 89%.

Trump is on track to beat Obama.

Except that Republicans beat that horse until it was twice dead during the Obama years, and now they have demonstrated their true, self-serving colors.

The deficit doesn’t actually matter so much. What matters is that Republicans only make it an issue so they can enrich themselves, not because they care about this country. They perpetrated the biggest fraud in election history in 2016 and half of you are either falling for it or outright endorsing it. Pathetic.

I think he's talking about the fraud that Trump promised to reduce the debt - not the Russian thing.

Trump spends like a drunken sailor while cutting taxes. Trump fans: Baad Democrats.

As if this makes any sense.

Don’t disagree, but let’s not act like the Democratic Party will become deficit hawks when they retake power.

Trump promised to eliminate the deficit in 8 years.

Through the first three years, he has raised it 68%.

How about raising more revenue or reducing military spending?

Hell, could we just start by reducing the amount of taxpayer money that goes to Trump's private businesses?

I love how it’s always “we should just cut food stamps” but a federal agency that compromises over half of discretionary spending (even more of you include pensions, retirement, and medical care) that also refuses to be audited because they cannot account for large portions of their massive budget is completely ignored.

The military is only 15% of the budget. I take it you support Trump withdrawing from Syria, right? How about doing what normal Americans do when in debt, reduce spending? Wishes are infinite, resources are finite.

Then the same amount would go to another business, which would accomplish what?

    LOL! Any moment now......

Oh, wait, the Tea party is magically going to resurrect with Warren starting as president in 2021, or with a Dem president 4 years thereafter.

The vast majority of our outlays are healthcare related.

Why is nothing being done about that?

And military costs skyrocket when you add in other costs attributable to “defense”, the VA budget alone — which should be bundled with military spending as it is a military expense — is over 200B, plus pensions would push Defense well past the next line item which is social security.

It is at least 60% of the discretionary source of spending in the budget and a perfectly reasonable to start if you want to "reduce spending." And no, I do not support Trump leaving the allies who helped us defeat ISIS to die.

...a decrease of money going to Trump's private businesses.
