For years, Donald Trump has claimed that he REALLY WANTS to disclose his tax returns... but cannot because they are under audit.

Do we believe this? I just saw a recent story (not about trump) which claimed the IRS admitted that they do not audit rich people because it is too time consuming, too complicated, and ultimately too expensive.
    https://www.nationalmemo.com/amp/irs-targets-the-poor-because-auditing-rich-people-is-too-costly/

further, as far as I am aware, there is no legal reason trumps tax returns could not be released

so do we really believe the trump line that he really wants to release his returns but cannot because they are under audit?

Trump never claimed that he could not release his tax returns because it violated IRS policy. He said (meant) he could not release his still under audit tax returns because that would be abominably stupid.

Don’t really like the choices. I just really don’t care about his or anyone else’s returns. All they have become is a political tool to say look at the guy I am running against tax rate.

After Harry Reid’s lies about Romney I wouldn’t release them either.

Yeah. It would be like Ted Bundy calling the police to tell them where he had buried the bodies.

Criminals don't usually voluntarily provide the evidence of their crimes.

Don't really care, then again I have faith in our Internal Revenue Service! So if they have yet to find anything I'm good with their job..

Of course he's lying. There is no way he's been audited 365 days a year every year.

During a CNN-Telemundo debate later that day, Trump said he wanted to release his tax returns, but could not while he's under audit.

"I've had it for years. I get audited. And obviously if I'm being audited, I'm not going to release a return," he said. "As soon as the audit is done, I love it."

That being said...I don't give two craps about his tax returns. Just don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining

Ya! While the cops were holding chronological data of all the events with detailed maps and location of burial sites including GPS coordinates and everything!

They have everything they want, go to the IRS building and ask them what they have found over the years :)

Then why doesn't the DNC ask the IRS for the POTUS, RETURNS.. And most of all, why he hasn't been jailed in all those years! I think the real problem here is corruption in the IRS, CIA, NSA, FBI and all the other letter people :)

You should probably ask that of someone who DOES want to see his tax returns

Goes without saying.... Only innocent people cooperate with an investigation. Guilty people will do everything they can to undermine it.

Most innocent people are so frightened by the mere mention of the words IRS and audit they simply pay "Whatever" guilty or not.. I admire Trumps defiance with this Government Strongarm Agency and those that feel the need to sift thru his private matters..

It's very simple. Trump probably didn't pay any taxes since 2009. No doubt his net worth plummeted ,,, so even if income from his properties was, say, $100M ,,, if his net worth plummeted $1B, his net income would have been - $900M. So, in the sound bite world of politics and the corrupt media, it would be tough to overcome the perception that situation might create.

You mean the one that said they are so underfunded that they don’t even bother with complicated returns?

    That Internal Revenue Service?

The consensus so far seems to be “trump is a liar but I don’t care” from the right.

That should have been an option I guess.
    Sad state we live in

Well considering many return are handled electronically now and the IRS employs around ninety thousand I'm sure they have the means to get the job done! And to claim that they don't bother with complicated returns makes no sense! Complicated returns are those of the wealthy and where the most attention is focused, unless you believe auditing people that submit 1040EZ is a priority at the IRS ;)

    preach brother!

exactly how I feel, the only tax returns I've ever looked at are mine and my wife's. Never asked or wanted to see anyone's whether it be my child, parents, siblings or anyone in politics. It baffles me that people care.

anyway, choice #4 should have been "I have a life"

hahah but there is no evidence to suggest he never filed his taxes. He in fact did turn over his taxes to the IRS for them to investigate for any criminal acts, and has....for years.

The left has their dembots believing there is something major in a 1040....it's quite comical....or something criminal that the IRS hasn't been able to find after decades of the President filing them

File his taxes? Hah! That's hilarious.

BTW are you talking about Donald Trump or Ted Bundy?. It's just as funny either way, though....

Are you suggesting the President hasn't filed his taxes? Do you have anything to support this claim?

That's down right laughable....he has been the most investigated, and vetted...and fully cooperated with legit investigations.
