Your specific solution has no practical application. States can force local districts to spend more on teachers, classroom equipment and learning materials.

The current education system is trickle up, and its worse than trickle down.

Nothing trickles down to the poor even though vast amounts of revenue pour through the education bureaucracy.

Baltimore apparently spends over $16K/year/student to turn out “Zero” students who can pass the math and English proficiency test.

“Returning to the money for just a moment, it's difficult to imagine how a school system can spend so much money and still be so ineffective. Warren, to his credit, has a simple answer, yet illuminating answer. “The tests are harder than what we’re learning in class.”

Pouring money into a broken corrupt system that refuses reform is a mistake.

But if that is what the people want that's what they will get - 'good and hard'.

How will the Democrats influence the Republicans that Trump is to be impeached? There are still too many Republicans that too loyal to Trump because they know that Trump can ruin them and I won't be surprised if that happens. It's going to take more to impeach Trump and would have to find a way to do so.

So are you suggesting that they will eventually launch an official investigation?

Then your extract should've included Biden.

Trying to imply criminal activity, corruption or just flat out theft. In most nations the way Trump calls Biden and Clinton (in the past) criminals without fronting any evidence to support such claims would land him in court. Apparently America accepts their political representatives can lie about people detrimentally.

Now you argue about what political processes are in action by these very same politicians, prolonging the issue in the minds of the people, giving the people more time to be convinced the implications are reality... THAT type of political movement.

What are you so worried about? Various House Committees are looking into the matter at the moment.

As I said, the examples were Trump pressuring beyond making a simple request.

That more money does not reform corrupt institutions.

That's fine, but you're generalizing from what's happening in one city.

We have drifted off subject to another good issue. You should start a new thread.

One of the few good things about partisan politics is the tendency of partisans to focus hard on the corruption of their opposition.
Why would anyone want to discourage efforts to expose the in your face corruption of dirty pols like Biden?

    Relevance?
Trump asked a foreign power to help him get reelected by them agreeing to work with his private attorney and Attorney General Barr to investigate Joe Biden, a political opponent. The phone call transcript with Zelensky is the smoking gun.

    k

Just another counterproductive DP Fake News meme. That approach always empowers Trump and diminishes the credibility of his opposition.

Nothing fake about the telephone transcript.
What "approach" are you talking about?

The phone transcript debunked the Fake News.

You have been misled by now notorious liars.

    "The Pinocchio Test"

"But Schiff on “Morning Joe” clearly made a statement that was false. He now says he was answering the wrong question, but if that was the case, he should have quickly corrected the record. He compounded his falsehood by telling reporters a few days later that if not for the IG’s office, the committee would not have known about the complaint. That again suggested there had been no prior communication.

The explanation that Schiff was not sure it was the same whistleblower especially strains credulity.
    Schiff earns Four Pinocchios."

You'd prefer that Trump ignores the Biden corruption in case it harms the possibility of Biden getting the Presidency?

Only the Leftists seem to feel that way. Trump doesn't feel there was pressure nor does Zalansky. The commonality for both leaders was getting rid of government corruption and it's only the Democrats who seem to be pro-corruption.

    Tell the truth now...
Would you expect either of them to claim pressure?

No, I wouldn't but also wouldn't try to exaggerate something that wasn't clearly there. There are those who feel so definitie about what happened, despite the denials, it's clear their arguments are based on their politics rather than any supportable facts.

But.. So what if Trump was pressuring Zelensky to root out corruption? Where is the problem with that?

Don't try and tie it all to the phone conversation. A lot of things happened after that.
