Civil servants like Marie Yovanovitch are the enemy of Trumpery

She was an obstacle in Slimy Rudy and Crooked Donald's efforts to hatch a plan to extort Zelensky. From all accounts she is a honest, dedicated, experienced woman who spent her professional career in the service of her country...........just like most civil servants. That makes her the antithesis of Trumpery. So they smeared her reputation and had her removed from her post as the US ambassador to Ukraine. A pretense was created to justify firing her because she would not be part of the hackery. If you think she is the only qualified person in the government who was forced out, or left on their own accord, due to the treachery taking place, you are wrong. Trump is purposely gutting the government to make way for Trumpery.

In order for Trumpery to thrive, an approach to government service that is fundamentally narcissistic, unscrupulous, and self-serving........people with integrity like Marie Yovanovitch must be marginalized. Because Trumpery can not be implemented by civil servants like Marie Yovanovitch. It can only be implemented by people like Billy the Bagman, Mike "Pompus" Pompeo, and Slimy Rudy. So she was marginalized.......almost. Fortunately, she has been afforded the opportunity to tell her story and reveal what happened behind the scenes.........despite Don's attempted to block her from doing so. What she exposed is an admin intent on undermining trust in America's institutions so his personal interests can be served.

Her story about what happened fits seamlessly with what we have been hearing from others in a position to know. Namely, there was a concerted effort on the part of multiple players to get something from Ukraine the Orange Fraud wanted. Compromising material on a political rival from a foreign government that would be politically damaging to that rival. If this sounds familiar there's a reason for that, it happened in the last election cycle.

I encourage everyone to read the statement she released to the public before her testimony. She is exactly the kind of principled person we need working for the nation's interests. It's her outstanding qualities that make her a threat to Individual 1.........making him a threat to us all.

 

Trump has castrated the diplomatic corp.. Our allies are asking, "Who do we talk to?"

What happened to Marie, and more importantly the reasons why it happened, serves as a metaphor for what Mafia Don is doing to the government and the country. If you refuse to be loyal to Don by being loyal to the people you serve......you will be crushed. The more he gets what he wants the more the country suffers.

I don't think Rick Perry, Pompeo or Barr will fall on their swords for Trump and Giuliani, but I could be wrong.

 

If you are a part of this admin it's only a matter of time before the Divider-in-Chief will ask you to do something unethical/illegal. Perry, Pompeo, and Barr have, as I like to say, had Don smear his shyte on them. The details of Perry's part in the Ukraine scandal are still emerging. Barr and Pompeo are up to their necks in it.

The EU is not intractable. The EU talks through is Commission in Brussels, not each EU-state, when it comes to international treaties. Which are negotiated and then passed/signed by each EU member-state.

But Trump is afraid to meet or do with Brussels. Which is why he "supposedly" hates the EU. I doubt he hates them - his principle interlocutor however is not Brussels but the PM of France - who made an effort to cultivate Trump early on. Just as well, because there is a "circuit" to the American presidency. He's not entirely shut-out when it comes to negotiating with Europe.

(Which he seems not particularly desirable to do. The guy does not give a damn about the EU. Whereas past-presidents cultivated a relationship with the entity.)

The PM of France (Macron) will say no evil regarding Trump because Macron knows that the guy is sick-in-the-head and he'd be put-off. The relationship must be maintained, and was reinforced last year when Trump celebrated the 75th anniversary of the landing of American Troops in France this year. Trump got about 15-minutes of time on French-TV but went over well in the US, it appears.

Which was all he wanted - the publicity-bounce. After all, his father was a German immigrant.
