Incredible as it may seem, AOC has come out with an even wilder approach to save the nation from prosperity. Incredibly, this cockeyed plan has been praised by one of the leading contenders for the Democratic presidential nomination – Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. “It's going to take big, structural change to tackle poverty and inequality in the U.S., and @AOC's ‘A Just Society’ is just the type of bold, comprehensive thinking we'll need to get it done,” Warren recently tweeted. "The most important part of the Just Society proposal is that it would substantially expand the meaning of “poverty” so that potentially tens of millions of additional Americans would be considered legally impoverished and made newly eligible for numerous welfare programs. These include the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, more commonly referred to as food stamps. You know the old saying that there’s no such thing as a free lunch? Comrade AOC would hand out free breakfasts, lunches and dinners, among many other free benefits. Perhaps the Tooth Fairy, little elves living in trees, or space aliens landing in Area 51 would foot the bill." Each time we think they can't get crazier- they push the envelope further. The liberals/Democrats/progressives live with a major fantasy. That the U.S. can afford trillions of dollars in social programs (including a 'Green New Deal') and fund it by cutting defense spending and taxing the rich. Of course given that cutting defense spending is one of their overarching goals anyway, they get two for one in proposing that.
Yesterday I was with a man from the Czech Republic that had just become a US citizen. I asked him why he bothered to take that step. His response was he wanted to have his voice heard in the next election. I download a few random podcasts and play them during my daily one hour morning walks and this morning, one of the podcast group was a citizen of the UK and he had also just passed his citizenship requirements and they asked him, why after ten years of living in the US did you just now feel the need to become a dual citizen? His response was, "after all the f**kery the democrats foisted on the nation during the Kavanaugh hearings, I wanted to add my dog to this fight and counter their insanity with one more vote for Trump". Interesting comments both and hopefully a trend.
