I get it now.Getting ready for winter and making it as close
to a Soviet Style Gulag as possible. One that Old Man winter
in Siberia can feel at home about. As he freezes his keister
    near half off.

Yes, but this is Alabama where a 1/4 inch of snow is a blizzard and my winter shed can be heated with an oil lamp. Okay... on cold days two oil lamps.

You could keep a shed in Siberia warm if you had enough coal.

There's been a lot of duplications of efforts, due to the availability of help and my inability to make timely decisions. Obviously, the border should have been put in before the mulch was.

Anyway, this border is in; if not bedded adequately. It's not what I would prefer, but it's good enough.

    How about the Worst cast actor in filmdom. Raymond Burr { Perry Mason }
in TWO - Godzilla - Movies { flicks }.Musta been something about the Food.Burr
was sort of a Gourmand. He played mostly heavies in his Pre-Perry Mason
days.I read somewhere he auditioned for Gunsmoke but was just too heavy.
His wide butt wouldn't fit in the Sheriffs chair used on the set.

Cowboys playing the Jets. Figured I'd find Falena here drunk, in her Jets cheerleader outfit. Guess it's too early.

    Lunch?

    Looking good!

I kinda laughed at myself when you said that about duplication of effort ... because you shoulda seen me building those two fences last summer. Cut a board, check for fit, not quite right, cut it again, appears to be right, go to install it and find something on the other end isn't right ... or like discovering that I couldn't get my drill in the right angle to screw in a trim board with the vertical boards already in, shoulda done that first ... etc, etc, etc ....:frustrated:

I always enjoy watching a pro at work - construction, roofing, electrical, plumbing, auto mechanics - and noticing how efficient they are. No duplication of effort, complete efficiency.

I worked for a man in a fabrication shop. We built stuff for sewage treatment. We shipped stuff to China. We also built the mixers for the largest sewer treatment plant in Mexico City. Anyway... this man would take the drawings... and make a cut list of every piece of metal needed for the job and give the paper to me. I cut the material and the fitters would take that and put together the machines.... or whatever. We bought nuts and bolts... and electric motors and swtches were shipped to us. But everything else was made on site. Some very smart people worked there. But the boss was probably the smartest man I ever met. We also did stuff for other people and he could go through the drawings and find mistakes in design. He could also fix just about anything from an overhead crane to a weed eater. This guy is a pro.

Nick Adams was a pretty neat actor.Friends with the great James Dean.
Had his own TV series - The Rebel - which I have.
He took his own life.Never got over the death of his friend James
Dean and also his only Best Supporting Actor nomination in
    ' 63.Losing to Melvyn Douglas { terrific performance } in - Hud - { 1963 }
Which I consider Paul Newman's best movie.

    Free meatballs all day long.
5 bucks for the gravy, roll and cheese.

    Happy Columbus Day.

I have great memories of Columbus Day growing up. Parade went by the house and everyone had their flags out. Jumping the parade line with a big Italian flag and walking past my cousins house waving and they waved back and pointed like wtf lol. Then about 30 years ago, I stepped off a plane in Florida and saw a group of people protesting Ponce Deleon and thought Columbus is next.

Im Italian American and proud of it.
From me to you all, Happy Columbus Day.
If you despise Columbus and his day, I understand.
    Now...relax, have a meatball.

The company he worked for was bought because they wanted his expertise. The man is a genius.

What was wrong with the original latch? What part was broken on it? Just curious.
The latch on the tail gate on our old truck didnt work for a while. You could pull the latch up and nothing happened. I took off the plastic cover, sprayed the hell out of the latch with penetrating oil and let it. I did the same thing the next day and then reached in with a screwdriver on it and a hit it hard with the hammer both left and right. lol It works great now.

This just made me laugh out loud.
I turned it on and watched the last few minutes of the 4th quarter and seriously thought to myself, Dallas fans shouldnt think for one second they are losing. They can sit back and relax. Mark it off as a win, now. The Jets are going to lose.
    I was shocked they won.

There's a 90° bellcrank in there to change the direction of force created by pulling on the handle. The pivots wore to the point that the bellcrank moved enough to bind against its housing and prevent movement.

This, of course, caused the operator pull harder. Thus, ripping the assembly out of the door...

Ford, evidently, came to realize that my door latch controller had this flaw. The one I got has the same part number, but was redesigned.
