Quite a few of them base their lives on the belief that the world will end if we don't stop carbon emissions in the next ten years.

What lie did CNN tell you? Did they tell you that Trump got caught trying to use hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to force the Ukraine to help him with his reelection? Did they tell you that two of his operatives were arrested for funneling Russian money into Trump's Campaign?

 

You obviously disagree with what I am saying but are unable to articulate a rational response. Could it be because conservative beliefs are emotional based?

The underlying reason for the difference in belief systems between big government Liberals, and small government Conservatives is primarily a matter of how one perceives what is best for society as a whole. There clearly is not one giant underlying objective truth where one side is right and the other side is wrong. It is basically a difference in perspective. Almost everything in politics is gray area, and there exists very little black and white.

There are highly intelligent subsets of people on both sides of the divide, just as there are complete idiots on both sides. If one honestly believes one side is rooted in objective truth, and the other in objective untruths, that person is clearly not in the highly intelligent subset of their own divide.




I will happily keep referring to this if you insist, because in it I make a good point and it simultaneously makes your rationale look equal parts silly and close minded. You should probably listen to old Mick's advice of "stay down Rock", but if you really want to persist, I am more than happy to oblige.

Do I think that makes them unintelligent? No but I think blending half truths with lies is dangerous because soon the person can't tell the difference between the two.

Well, see why conservatives and liberals differ in their beliefs. If your premise is, all news outlets are honest except for FOX, there is nothing more anybody can say on the subject.
