ABC apologizes for mistaking Kentucky gun range video for Turkish bombing of Syria

    ABC issued a correction and apology Monday for reportedly using video from a Kentucky gun range while falsely claiming it depicted a fierce battle between Syrian Kurds and Turkish forces.

    The network aired the footage on Sunday night and Monday morning, framing it as battlefield video, when, in fact, it appears to be from a night gun demonstration at the Knob Creek Gun Range in West Point, Kentucky.

    Been to Knob Creek. Pretty cool place.

    What we have here is another attempt by a major news network to dramatize a story in order to invoke outrage. Its not like they accidentally used that footage; they used it intentionally.

    These are the same *******s that cried when we went to war in Syria. Now that we are leaving... they are crying again? WTF?

    This is a centuries' old struggle and not ours. I am not for our people dying for their problems. We don't need the Middle East.

    I can see how some kid setting in a booth could mistake what he was looking at. I doubt many people would have recognized that as something happening at a gun range. I'm sure a lot of people had a good laugh.

    "Some kid" was in charge of finding combat footage in Syria but instead came up with video of a mini gun spraying at a shooting range and nobody bothered to double check?

    Oops I guess? Probably an accident I'm sure.

    At a glance I can see how someone would make the mistake. I’d say there’s enough reasonable doubt that they weren’t intentionally giving misinformation.

    It’s a pretty big goof to be sure, and unfortunately it ends up taking away from a very real travesty.

    While sorta off topic I actually agree, at a certain point we gotta take off the training wheels and let them sink or swim on their own unless we want to give them statehood. Same way with South Korea imo..... Bash away lol

    They tried to destroy the life of an innocent kid for politely smiling while a drunk Native American banged a drum in his face. They tried to depict a violent murderous teenager as a cute 10 yr old minding his own business. Nothing is too low for the MSM.
