So once again Trump creates chaos and then tries to do something to stop the harm he has created. Usually the chaos that Trump creates is just political theater , lies that do not cause loss of life. But this time Trump gets fooled by Erdogan's throwing a fishing lure at Trump and Trump swallows it Hook, line, and sinker. Erdogan said he was just going to secure Turkey's border no more. Trump believed him.

The truth is that Turkey killed not only Kurdish fighters but also women and children.
Turkey caused ISIS terrorists to escape, ISIS widows, wives, and children to escape lockup.

ISIS will likely regroup, reform their Caliphate and cause terrorism, murder, and evil as we never have seen before in the ME.

Nice work Trump! He will be the ISIS man of the year.

Would rather use sanctions than put our soldiers life's at risk in a never ending war in the middle East

When are other euro countries at then? This effects countries like Germany and France more than American just based on proximity alone. They don't want to make sure these isis soldiers stay locked up so they don't attack the closest targets in Europe? I can see why french and German citizens are getting fed up....

Where are the other Nato countries? Do they not think that it'd be in their interest getting involved with at minimum the guarding of ISIS soldiers? If I was Germany or France I'd be crossing my fingers hoping one of those soldiers didn't wreck havoc in Brussels or Berlin

The young men are still engaged in the endless conflict. He just deployed those ~50 soldiers, and another ~1200 to another region in the middle east.

The real question might be, "where is ISIS now?"

We stepped in and used the Kurds to take on ISIS, and now we're just going to walk away from it all? We spent how many years in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting ISIS and the various iterations of these terrorist groups? All for nothing? I wonder if those who served might see this as a slap in the face?

I've been against getting involved in the region the way we did, but this lack of consistency is a concern.

They were blindsided by trump's decision. Just like everyone else.

And the troops were deployed to Saudi Arabia.

Truth? Trump COULD have, and he SHOULD have told Erdogan that we will withdraw, but that Turkish armed forces must NOT (NOT) go roaring into the Kurdish-held areas and do ANYTHING at all! Trump could have handled this American withdrawal in an entirely different manner -- and he certainly should have. Should we have ever gone into Syria with troops-on-the-ground? Hell, no! But should he have 'bugged-out' like he did a week ago...? Hell, no!

Hey, I voted for Trump in 2016, and I despise every Democrat running in the 2020 election. That said, IMHO, Trump TOTALLY F*CKED THIS THING IN SYRIA UP -- BADLY! And now he's been made to look like a witless fool!

Is Saudi Arabia the same level of danger for American troops that Northern Syria is?

It's really not a good excuse though yes he announced it fast but didn't these other countries have any of their soldiers in the region? I'm not understanding how they aren't involved in this quagmire too considered the threat to their safety

It could be that NATO has had enough of Trump lying about them, trying to provoke them, and showing no respect for NATO countries who sent troops to Afghanistan to help us.

Idk where they are..... Next question why don't European countries care enough to help guard them?

"We spent how many years in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting ISIS and the various iterations of these terrorist groups? All for nothing? I wonder if those who served might see this as a slap in the face"

Id assume those who served wouldn't want their brothers in harm's way right?

Yes we've been in the region for awhile giving arms to our "allies" only for them to be turned on us later.

Do these terrorists not attack European capitals or what? That could be the only excuse for why they aren't doing more in a region so close to them

    Really?

    'LAY DOWN ARMS'
Donald Trump demands Turkey to ceasefire after threatening Erdogan with tougher sanctions for holding 50 US nuclear bombs hostage
The Turkish government currently effectively holds around 50 American nuclear weapons at the strategically-vital air base at Incirlik.
The base also stores part of the American nuclear deterrent and is in use by Turkish planes to support its incursion into northern Syria.

I agree with the principle idea of removing our Troops yes the execution leaves.much to be desired. Are we willing to declare war on a Nato Ally to stop Turkey?

Not a good excuse? Those countries have a whole host of considerations, not the least of which are the lives of their own citizens.

Add on the fact that you are asking them to place themselves there in order to do...what? Stop Turkey? Protect American allies?

At a minimum, the talking point of "why aren't the Europeans stepping up" is still a condemnation of Trump's decision because he made on a whim and without even a consideration or consultation of the Europeans who are supposed to step.

Is there combat in SA at the same level as Northern Syria?

Again removing our Troops from other people's war is a good thing. We can debate over executive of said removal but it's good that those troops arent at risk.

Place them there to retrieve the war criminals so they don't run loose in Europe.

With the stupidities and idiotic egotistical behavior that the Trumpeizdas displays you have the nerve to falsely accuse others of egotism?
