Actually cop haters are more effective than protests when it comes to spreading the bs. Example, this happened just down the road from me and you're the only person I've met who's outraged.

Do what the cops tell you to do and you won't get shot, ignore their commands at your own peril. I was renovating another house about a mile from the one I was living in. The alarm went off and I was called by the alarm company. I raced over there with a small 5 shot .38. The front door was wide open with the alarm going off (one of the realtors set it off then just took off). Two cops rushed in and ordered me to get on the ground with my arms out, I complied. They hand cuffed me and as they did I told them of the firearm on me. My drivers license listed the address we were at. I told them I was the owner and they checked and released me. Even being armed, I went with the program and wasn't harmed, even though I had a firearm on me. Nobody wants to die, especially those who try to protect us from the real bad people in life each and every day. Anyone who has never been in a real life or death situation just can't understand. You think you know, but you don't. Please take a "Shoot/Don't Shoot" class, the real world will be different for you from then on.

It is long past time. It seems that since people don't protest that they are OK with cops barging into their homes in the middle of the night and shooting them dead.

Heck, a NYC thug cop just pulled his gun on a waitress and threatened to shoot her if she wouldn't hang out with him. He'll probably get a letter of commendation and a promotion.

That is too funny. The citizens are very calm. They should be marching on the slave patrol station.

Nice but the fatal shot in this case was virtually instantaneous with the 'get your hands up.'

A poster made the comment that the killer cop should never have access to a gun in the future. Texas law says that if he is sent to prison and released that he can have a gun five years after his sentence and parole is over. You have to read the associated comments in order to understand what people are responding to. Nothing is put out in a vacuum.

protest anywhere, zip codes dont matter.

protest in your closet when you wake up. in the kitchen during breakfast, and at work for sure, your boss will understand.

Just an observation but you sure seem angry at a lot of people and now texas is a hell hole? I mean geez for example I think California is all messed up with the regulations and crazy taxes but for the right opportunity I'd move there, it may be a bit wacko but it's certainly not a hell hole and the same goes for Texas I've been there it's awesome.

I certainly met my share of cops on a power trip and obviously I've seen it on the news but ninety-nine times out of a hundred the issues are lot more complex and the role are different, including potential for abuse. Basically I think what I'm saying is that I can accept those .01 percent of instances where things go wrong, but I would like to see more Justice, less cover ups. I believe that's happening already and the body cameras have been extremely helpful. One side notice that I do think the body cameras have diffused a tremendous number of instances that could have turned into a media shitstorm like in the past. I mean the body camera footage of the gentle giant would have been amazing. (for one side or the other), instead of a being the word of one witness versus 1 cop initially. That recent shooting up in Minneapolis I think they protested five or six times with marches to the courthouse and then when the footage was released that story died damn quick.

    just curious.
Are there races and occupations that you do like?

I figured that would be an easier question to answer because if I asked you to list all the races & occupations that you don't like it might get repetitive: white cops white firemen white politicians white teachers, etc.

Yes, and the police NEVER identified themselves.....

My question: WHY didn't the cops try the open front door?

    Ring the doorbell?

    Call out?

    Identify themselves?

    FEAR? Cowardice?

I don't think your anecdotal story relates at all to the incident we are discussing, i.e., a cops showing up at someones house where a crime has not been committed and gunning a woman down by shooting her through her window.

Also, if she was armed, people have a legal right to be armed in their own home. Maybe the proper response in this case would have been for the police to back off a bit and announce their presence.

The cop in this case should be arrested and charged with murder.

BTW, never took a Shoot/Don/t Shoot class, but I have shot 100% on the Shoot/Don't Shoot simulator at FLETC (while visiting the training center).

Good reading for the libertarian minded.

Seems there’s a good number of posters in here who hold support for cops over support for castle doctrine. In a country that guarantees the right to bare arms shouldn’t you be free to tote a gun around in your own home, especially if there is a stranger outside who is failing to identify himself?

Cop made a bad/uninformed/racist(?) call, and now an innocent woman is dead. Damn shame.

Here is an update with a little info on the killer thug cop = Aaron Dean. https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/c...ired/287-de5e6853-452a-4a54-a288-473f98d02eb2

The survivors should be able to get $60 million for the wrongful death if they have a decent lawyer. Minneapolis had to pay out $20 million in the case where the Somalia cop killed the Australian woman.

The chief thug cop is still trying to cover for the killer.

You don’t instantly comply with demands from strangers shining lights into your back window?
You got some kind of death wish?

It is a miracle! They have charged the ex-cop with murder!! He is on a $200,000 bail.

Fort Worth officer jailed on murder charge after fatally shooting Atatiana Jefferson
Fort Worth police spokesman Sgt. Chris Daniels said at a brief news conference Monday night that the department took Dean into custody about 6 p.m. He said the department is still “working diligently to complete the criminal and administrative investigations” and is in close contact with the Tarrant County district attorney’s office.

Police did not take any questions at the news conference. The chief is expected to provide an update Tuesday.

The charge against Dean came less than two weeks after former Dallas police Officer Amber Guyger was convicted of murder for shooting Botham Jean in his apartment last year. Guyger, who said she believed that she was at her apartment and that he was an intruder, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
