Osama founded AQ in Saudi Arabia in 1988. He was banished from Saudi Arabia in 1992 and went to Sudan. Sudan kicked him out in 1996, and we went to Afghanistan where he lived until the American invasion in 2001.

AQ was not started in Iraq.

WTF are you saying, we should have forced our stay there. If so your ignorance of international law is on display.

Not my understanding of the history. The Taliban was allowing AQ to operate out of Afghanistan when they attacked us on 9/11/2001. When we went to Iraq in 2003 the insurgency began shortly thereafter, allowing AQ to set up there, eventually becoming ISIS.

Bravo President Trump. And the war mongers will hate it. He will take care of Afghanistan next. Instead of escalating middle east wars like the traitor Obama, our president has and will slow down the damage that Obama started. Russia will protect the Christians that ISIS killed in Syria. Russia and Turkey should handle it, that's their neighborhood, not ours.

We could have easily stayed. Obama would not start the negotiation.

Jesus, the negotiation was ABOUT the immunity. The SOFA had to be renogotiated multiple times previously.

Yup and Trump has been a true leader here-leading the peace agreement, and leading the US despite all of the whining.

Night and day difference with Obama.

    Trump supporters are deliberately naive.

Iraq's prime minister said Saturday that U.S. troops are leaving Iraq after nearly nine years of war because Baghdad rejected American demands that any U.S. military forces to stay would have to be shielded from prosecution or lawsuits.

they rejected that EVERY TIME we negotiated. They had always made demands to try US Soldiers in their courts. Of course the prime minister announced that when he realized Obammie wasn’t going to push to extend the SOFA. It was something he could show off as a political win. You are the one being naive if you think the United States could not pressure Iraq into letting us keep troops there.

well yeah, that's what we did every time, and what we should have done again. The fall of Mosul and rise of ISIS is the price that was paid for Obammie's failure.

No we do not strong arm as a rule of thumb in foreign policy.

ISIS started in Iraq... The Saudis are still smarting over supporting the warlords against the Soviets in the 1980s.. That became Al Qaeda.. They know blowback and unintended consequences.

Oh, of course, better for terrorists to gain power and hundreds of thousands to be killed and displaced from their home than to strong arm a POS Iraqi politician that cares more for the size of his mansion than the well being of his people. Politicians are pieces of **** in every country, not just ours.

Bush had already signed the SOFA and installed the Iranian stooge Maliki. Obama had nothing to do with it.

Do you remember the Dual Containment Policy. The ascendancy of Iran was predictable. Bush was likeable but he sure was dumb.

And now a Republican president wants to bring the troops home Democrats are whining. Do you see how politics is played? When one party is for something the other is against, and visa-versa. No wonder this country is so divided.

Units get rotated back to the US after serving their time. At least in SA the troops are out of harms way.
