There are plenty of educated people voting for trump. Its because they are voting for policies, for or against. Its the Democrats who treat elections like popularity contests

In reality, the Trump base is less educated and makes less money than the average Democratic voter.

 

In reality education and intelligence doesn't go hand and hand. Money also doesnt mean anything considering Democrat strongholds are incredibly expensive cost of living places. A Hillary voter making 250k living in San Francisco has less real income than a trump voter making 100k in Oklahoma.

You also didnt really address anything. There are plenty of intelligent and educated trump voters. Because even if they dislike the man, they vote based on policy

Maybe I'm naive, but I don't believe speeches today are meant to inform so much as to energize the speaker's base. An intelligent person would learn what a candidate proposes by visiting the candidate's campaign website, which is where you'll usually find a comprehensive outline of a candidate's platform. Many people on the right mocked Andrew Yang's universal income proposal, but his concept is thoroughly laid out on his website. The problem is that the average voter eschews factual debate in favor of soundbites, quotes, memes, and sensational caricatures.

 

I am afraid you have been misinformed... The ghettos, the inner cities, the welfare rolls, they are all your base.... Business owners, the middle class, the manufacturing sector, the energy sector - they are Trump country.

 

I was just talking to my wife about this. I’m 49 years old and have never seen the democrat party is such bad shape. Trump beat the hell out of them in Kentucky tonight, and I was like “damn dude, have some mercy”. Trump had no mercy and rightfully so. The democrats have no strategy, no message and no leader. From a tactical standpoint, that’s a really bad place to be..

You can make the case some of his policies are dumb. Fine. Theres not a single candidate that doesn't have "dumb" policies, including the dems. Others are good policies. And some vote for trump because they dont want Democrats policies

I heard him speak, early in his first term, to a rally of government workers on C-SPAN who were taking the day off on our money. When he said, "We're gonna turn 5000 years of human history on its head," then I knew.

Trump wants to build a useless wall. He put Rick Perry in charge of the Dept. of Energy--the same Rick Perry who once campaigned on a desire to end the Dept. of Energy. He put a science denier at the head of the EPA and he put vaccine deniers in high positions in the CDC. It wouldn't surprise me at this point if he put a flat earther in charge of NASA.

I was a science major. A lot of my friends work or have worked in STEM. Most of us are liberals. That's just the way it is. We see through Trump because he have an IQ higher than 80.
