No, youbate making the accusation so you proove that Kerry received the Purple Hearts wrongfully or not for wounds suffered. The Purple is awarded to any service member who is wounded or killed as a result of any hostile foreign force. The awarding of a Purple Heart is for wounds , period. There us no criteria as to the severity of wound for awarding a Purple Heart. I know of a case in Vietnam where a mortar round hit near three USAF personnel. One was killed instantly with shrap cutting into his head, second guy was moderately to severely injured almost losing his leg, and the third Airman just got his earlob pierced. All three were awarded the Purple Heart.

So now I hear people who most likely never served, do not serve, and never will service crapping on Kerry who served. I am putting Kerry's actions after he came back aside though I absolutely disagree with what he did after. Regardless of politics Kerry served and was awarded a Purple Heart with added clusters for each occurrence. There is no Purple Heart for bonespurs.

 

You can root around on the SS web site and find it. I looked it up because a tenant of mine told me that her mother who she had brought here from Ecuador and never worked a day in the US was collecting it. I was shocked.

There it is is not required for the Purple Heart recipient to be hospitalized only wounded as a result of a foregn enemy action and treated by ma medical officer and for the medical officer to document the treatment of the wound in the service members record.

Of the story of the three airmen :
First of all the guy who got nipped in the ear was not Medivaced out it clipped his ear lobe so he was harassed for getting his ear pierced.
There is no proof that Kerry "put" in for a Purple Heart. The process is that the commanding officer of the unit tells the First Shirt to submit the paperwork.

Hospitalization for a Purple Heart is not required. You need to have had been treated by a medical officer who would have had to record the medical treatment in the service members record.

The commanding officer of the Serviceman"s unit needs to make the request for the Purple Heart award to be granted.

No one can make a request to be awarded a Purple Heart for himself.
