Ilhan Omar accused of anti-Semitism for linking Bloomberg and wealthy Jewish billionaire

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar drew sharp criticism for a message she shared on Twitter in response to the news that businessman Leon Cooperman plans to support billionaire Michael Bloomberg's potential run for president. "I wonder why?" Omar tweeted Saturday in response to the news along with a "thinking" emoji.

Her response caused many to assert that she linked Cooperman to Bloomberg because both men are Jewish. Omar, a Muslim, has been under fire several times since being elected to Congress for making remarks considered by many to be anti-Semitic, including a February tweet in which she suggested lawmakers supported Israel only for the money.

Yeah - I can't see any other reason for her saying what she said other than some kind of "Dem dar Joos alwayz stickin' together," kinda claptrap.

There's times I could swear Omar is secretly on the GOP's payroll in order to drive the Jews away from the Dems. It's a way-out idea but when you have someone like her doing this kinda stuff all the freakin' time, it sorta makes you wonder.

Omar's constituents are always free to vote her out (if they see a problem with this absurd narrative).

 

You're perfectly free to come up with a better explanation for her tweet, AJ.

 

This is a free nation if the Jews do something I do not like I am free to criticise as I do not kneel and bob at their table for scraps to survive.No one or no group is beyond reproach.

 

Well, I'm still waiting for any OTHER rational explanation for her tweet besides some manner of anti-Semetism. "Golly, why IS that one Jew supporting that OTHER Jew? Hmm." Well, gosh Omar - you tell US why.

Why is it relevant to anything? Why waste your time tweeting that - it must serve SOME purpose. Granted, I avoid Twitter like the plague and don't have an account, but you combine this with her other statements about Dose Joos and wondering about her motivations is a perfectly normal reaction to it.

The reason a businessman would be to support a billionaire is to get MONEY from the billionaire in exchange!

My personal opinion of Ilhan Omar is that she is a person of minimal intelligence or insight who is either an anti-semite or is simply so used to anti-semitism that she sees it as normal. The smartest thing the Dems could do is primary her out of her seat at the first opportunity.

Having said all that, describing this as anti-semitism is a reach of epic proportions. As you point out, the obvious inference here is that it is one rich guy supporting another. Even with my strong dislike of her that was the first thing that came to mind when I read the quote & I see no reason to alter that opinion.

With impeachment heating up & the White House looking a bit 'Lord of the Flies' it is clear that any distraction will do, even one as desperate as this. Of course, those desperate for distractions know that there are always folks on the internet who will spread their disinformation and those of us out here always know who will be the ones to do it..

 

Why can't she be both?

You can see them on TV. There are a number of them elected to office holding Democrat seats. Or you can look at hate crime statistics and notice Jews are are number 1 as always.
