    It's our problem because they are going to keep coming here in great numbers unless things significantly either deteriorate here or improve greatly in where they are coming from.

    That didn't help native Americans when our European ancestors invaded them and rounded them up and confined them to reservations.

    The children are used as human shields by criminals to cross the border and then they're dropped off anywhere when they outlive their usefulness. The children aren't with their real families, and there's a reason for that. Just be glad that most of them end up with immigration enforcement instead of being dropped off in the desert to die.

    None of us whites of European extraction are native here,so we are saying we got here first so it belongs to us???We brought those of African heritage here against their will as slaves and then we imported Asians to help build the trans continental railroad.

    Most of that occurred 150+ years ago. Times were different. The Indian tribes were not exactly innocent when it came to treating the other tribes. You can feel guilty about, but I refuse to.

    You're half right. African Americans were brought here because they were sold by their home nations in Africa to Europeans.

    I noticed you didn't add that part. Why did you fail to do that?

    I refuse to feel guilty either. If @61falcon can show us which slave owners TODAY are keeping slaves without punishment... then we can further discuss.

    However, she cannot cite such sources.

    It is against federal law to allow the immigration of people likely to become dependent upon the state within 2 years.

    What does one have to do with the other? If we did not ratify the agreement then we cannot be in violation of it. What does it say we can only detain 50,000? What are we supposed to do with the other 50,000?

    So rather than insure they have safe places to stay and be fed properly and receive health care and schooling we should let them lose on the streets?

    I for one had no idea we had that many in our detention system, and have no idea how long some of them may have been there.
