I believe that polls are a way for people to say what they want said without having to defend it.

I do not believe that polls at all reflect anything other than what was intended in the first place.

Ballots I believe, poles not so much.

What exposed this to me were the polls leading up to the 2016 election. Polls say nothing to me now other than what someone wants me to think and perhaps why. They do not tell me anything about those being polled other than they were chosen by the pollster as part of saying what is intended to be said behand.

Anything promoted by a poll is suspect. It always causes me to question why someone wanted to say that via a poll rather than just coming out and saying them self.

I gave up on polls way back when Reagan was supposed to lose by a landslide.

I find statistical tools helpful though challenging the status quo in any endeavor is equally helpful. Don’t toss the baby out with the bath water.
